New to the site, not the scene
So, hello, name is Matt, used to have a pretty fast 86 GT, took apart to make stupid fast (1500+rw) and ran out of money and time. Hope to have it mobile in the next 9-12 months.
Anyway, I dabbled with Corvettes a while, sold both of them (second one yesterday), and started to get my old convertible running today. Friend said to join up since I was back into Mustangs...
Can't afford a new 5.0 right now (and if I did, I'd probably buy another used Vette first-no offense), but my old shit-boxes will hold their own. Any fast new style 5.0's around the site?

Welcome Matt.
Fast? Not by your standard of fast. It's a good group of guys here. Very chill, laid back place. You're not going to find too many monster cars in the new 5.0 scene quite yet. Buying a $30k car and dumping another huge chunk of change to completely rebuild a new car that doesn't need rebuilding is kinda rare. The quicker cars around here will only be around 600-700rw. Most around the the 400rw for now since most haven't had their cars too long yet since they are new. lol.

makes most sense... 600-700 rw aint bad, thats starting to get into the fun catagory... if you dont have to pedal, it needs more power.

600rw is plenty for the street. Less breakage = more time on the road to actually enjoy your car rather than being a member of Jackstand Racing. lol.

86 was out for 6 years at 700+... it's all in the combo. It made 660 at 14 psi the day I had it running... that was only at 5400 rpm too, I think you were there at the old HPP dyno day.. Tune was so off it flooded the garage with black smoke like a gd diesel...
When you rode in the vert it was over 600... probably near 700 short shifting it... not my fault the trans is a pos, I didnt buy it.

Haha, good times. Seeing everyone run out of the dyno area because of all the smoke was hilarious!

Sure did, traded it for an orange c6-which I sold to the original owner in June. Who dis?
The 04 is owned by some dude in Ventura Ca. I also had a teal 93 that is now owned by a guy named Collin who lives in NW Frisco.

Never met personally but I remember your screen name from SVTPerformance.
Been on there for 5 years during the Terminator frenzy era. Remember that CO being one of my favorites

I appreciate it. I loved how it looked too, but it was slow and I didn't want to spend 10-20 grand on it to make it alot faster.
