New to the area...sort of
Hello everyone,
My names Jon, I moved to McKinney in June from NH. Thought the mustang scene was strong in New England until I got here. Some great cars rolling around here.
The car: 06 GT, nothing really done to the motor, mild suspension, use the car mostly for autocross. Plans are to keep improving the suspension and build the car up for track days.
I have seen a lot of the club members cars at various Cars & Coffee events and some car shows. Jucostud (on s197 forum) suggested I check this group out

All the events I have done so far are with Equipe Rapide. They do events all over DFW but I have only been able to attend the ones in mesquite. I would like to do some more elsewhere, most likely next year. If you can you should come out to the Mustang vs Camaro event on Sat in Ennis. There will be autocross as well as drag. We need more autox people!

I will be at the Mustang VS Camaro event. Once I found out they opened it up to autoX ive been looking forward to it.

Our beasts are kind of heavy for the game, and its tough to use our best weapon (power), but it sure is fun. I'll second the Equipe Rapide recommendation. I did a few with them back in the day, as they were not wound as tight as the SCCA crowd. Nothing wrong with SCCA either (and you'll find a lot of folks who run with multiple orgs).

I haven't run with any other car affiliation, but looks like they are open to all, i.e. the BMWCC, PCA, etc are open to all makes.
