Assuming my redline is set to 7200 RPM, in 4th gear (1.32:1) with 3.55s and a 27" tire, I'll be turning around 123-124 MPH.

A 26" tire would basically give me 118-119 MPH at 7200 RPM redline

I think a 26" tire height is my best bet for the power level I will have my car at for a long while before boost. I should never trap more than 118-119 if I'm around 420-430 rwhp (after E85 conversion and maybe a TB). Right?

I'm right at the stock rev limiter in fourth gear when crossing the quarter mile.

3.73s
28.5" tall tire (305/35-20)
114.5mph

I dunno about you, but I would expect at least that kinda trap for a modded coyote...

You will want to give yourself a little cushion. Peak power with the stock intake is going to be around 6,500. 118 with a 27" tire and 3.55 is ~6,900.

Brent is/was trapping around 118 with his setup consisting of Boss IM, and all those other goodies. I would think I would be slightly below that, but I don't mind going with a 27" tire at all. Actually, that would be nice to drive to the track on a tire setup that wasn't 1" shorter OD in the rear. LOL

But yes, in perfect math/conditions, a 27" tire would but me basically at 120 at 7000 RPM. 120 MPH should be a low-mid 11 sec pass, correct?

My best n/a pass was 11.67 @ 119, so yep, pretty close.

If you're buying a dedicated drag wheel/tire setup, get the 28s. They will work fine with your n/a combo and give you room to grow.

You're right. It doesn't hurt to give room for growth. Plus when I go boost in years down the road and swap to 3.31s, that will help prevent me from going into 5th hopefully...

YEARS? the tires will be either bald or hard as rocks in YEARS... get the 26 or 27s for now and when you get a blower you can buy some new tires... its not like they are some huge investment, they are like 180 bucks a piece. lmao.

soundsa bout right... also, the Quick Times are bias ply, they grow about an inch when they are wound up, so you can prob go closer to 122... Absolute WORST case after you have the tires, bump the revlimiter 100-200 rpm if you are tagging it. Those motors will spin to the moon and not g.a.f.
