Not really a surprise is it? Make near the same power but the Z06 is much lighter ,longer gearing and more aerodynamic.

what are the gear ratios of the 5.0?

the z06 has very short gearing ratio compared to the base coupe vette..

The Vette has longer gears in the trans.
