heat wrap on headers
Just wondering is there anyone that has heat wraped there. Headers an. Is there any. Benefit to doing it???
|
Underhood temp decreases but the cracks tend to happen.

There would be a benefit of course as it would cause less heat to engine bay however it is a gamble. Heat wrap generally introduces the chance to rust and has a tendency to harden the metal due to the heat being contained and make it more prone to cracking.

There a waste to wrap unless your wrapping the turbo exhaust. All it does it decrease heat but no performance gains. Unless on a turbo car

It isn't good for cats either, is it?

I run open headers so IDGAF lol, j/k ... dunno most people when worried about heat run ceramics, don't know anyone these days that wrap.

Damn that's hot

Hood vents would be the best solution. The 13+ cars are good examples as it would allow the heat to simply flow out of the engine bay so your plastic parts and wiring are heatsoaking.
