Default (PIC's) Sonax Wheel Cleaner

As some of you already know I boiled my standard dot 4 brake fluid on my last track session. The front wheels were really dull after washing them with soap and water. Forgeline recommended that we try Sonax before looking to have them re-finished. Unfortunately the brake calipers are burned and will have to be re-powdercoated. I have since flushed the brake system and put Motul 600 in place of it.

Pics after the track session, the wheels got so hot that the center caps fell out.

Pics after washing with soap/water. Center spokes are dull.

Pic before 2nd Sonax session, the wheels are dirty from driving around town for a week or so after the 1st Sonax session.

Pic after applying Sonax, it goes on green.

Pic after waiting a few minutes and using a wheel brush to agitate. At this point Sonax is blood red.

Pic of the same wheel after I finished washing and detailing the car.

The wheels still aren't 100%, but I think they will be fine and will not require me to ship them out to get re-finished. Let me know what you think.

Hard to say, my car is not my daily and it stay's clean most of the time so its easy to keep the brakes clean, your pads will make a big difference too.

Not sure that it can be found at any regular retail store, I ordered mine for about $15 off amazon. Not the cheapest stuff, but seemed to work better than I thought it would.

You should be able to. It is pH balanced so no acid like a lot of the normal ones. Back of it says its for all types of steel/alloy wheels including chrome and polished. Since its acid free it will not attack wheel coatings, lug nuts or brake systems. I know that Forgeline has a matte black powder coat finish, and they recommend it for all of their wheels.

Will do brother, I ordered a few of these kits and a few cases of sonax. The weekend warrior kits are going to include 1 bottle Sonax Carnuba spray wax detailer, 1 bottle Sonax wheel cleaner, 15 cotton ultra soft polishing towels and 3 plush microfiber towels (the GOOD kind). These kits are looking to be around 60 shipped.

Edit:

I also meant to tell you guys we picked up poorboys detailing, this is some of the best stuff I and my detailer have used.
