They sit low but directly in line with the tire. So the only way you're going to hit one is if you curb it or perfectly straddle a big speed bump. Oh, and you won't be able to go through automated carwashes with a track.

I have them and have never hit them.

Good lord I hope no one takes there 5.0 through an automated car wash. Haha. To each their own I suppose. But, I did see a guy at a self-service car wash near downtown Dallas wash his black GTR with the huge soap brush. I cringed a little.

I don't think less of anyone who does that, as I used to do that all the time with my previous cars - but, I soon came to realized that automated car washes and using self service soap brushes leave fine stratches all over the car/truck. Not very noticeable on most cars - but on black cars, you can really notice.
