If it's the car I'm thinking it is, this GT500 is local right? Young kid driving it?

Looks like it runs pretty good. 5.0 owner in the comments mentions issues shifting at high RPM's (yay mt82!) lol.

The Supra looks like it runs good too!

I should run that GT500, I make about the same power. MT82 does suck at high rpm.

That's a pretty good vid.

When seeing cars like this, I always wonder how much power and torque is enough. I had a civic SI and it made 197 hp at the flywheel. When I first got it, I thought it was the fastest thing ever. Then, I got used to it and got a wrx with 265 hp. I thought damn, this thing is fast. Got used to it and wanted more. Then I got a 5.0 with 420 hp and haven't got more power hungry yet. But, I see these guys and wonder if they ever get tired of 650 to 700 horses and want more (800+). It's a freaking viscous cycle. Lol.

We can run tomorrow night if we finish tuning by then. It's not 100% so it's no biggie on the result. Should have the clutch issue solved soon though.

700-800 with good gears is really enough imo. I never got tired of driving my fox with it around 750. It could have gone on a diet, but I never cared because I liked my stereo and it was plenty fast.

I changed it up because I thought the car was eventually going to CA and it was too m'f'in loud with the supercharger. The turbos and mild turbo cam lope would have made the car a lot less obvious that it was fast. It should make a little more power than it did hopefully, went with a smaller motor because I found it cheap used, but did more work to the heads to hopefully compensate for the -40 CID I lost. If it makes 800 rw on 93 octane with no methanol help and weighs about 3200 lbs with me in the car, it should be enough to still have fun with imo.

Sergio's car seems fast to you "re-rx7", but it isn't really. I never said you said your car was fast.

And yes, my friends are awesome. More awesome than Sergio's car anyway.:jester:

Its an old Supra was a 7m. Pretty quick given the circumstances. Fast is relative anyways. MAybe I should have worded it as " for what the car is, it is quick"? Would that have suited you and your fast friends better? Im just curious as to what constitutes fast?

1000rw is a starting point for being fast. Anything above 1000rw are referred to "fast" or "mountain" cars. Anything below 750rw are referred to as "sandbox" cars. Anything between 800-1000rw are stuck out. Too fast for sandbox cars, but not even fast enough to be a camera car for "mountain" cars.

Quit trolling. No one is making "rules". What is "fast" is relative to the individual and their own backgrounds and experience. But when it comes to the racing scene and what it takes to be competitive is what I am referring to.

My 600hp car has lost 1 race out of the 2 months I've owned it, sounds pretty "competitive" to me.
