I always say I'm gonna keep a car but that has never happened. I'm sure this will be gone by next January if not a little sooner

you get better interest rates on new cars. Plus I bought mine brad new because with any used sports car you take a gamble with how the previous owner treated the vehicle. Plus there were not really any used '13s when I was looking and I didn't want a 11-12. It's nice knowing exactly how a car has been treated since day one and knowing for sure that all maintenance has been done on time and correctly.

With good credit and car buying programs, you can get interest rates below 0.5% on new cars. That's free money to invest IMO. Combine with the peace of mind of a warranty for people who don't modify, I say why does anyone buy used anymore (unless you're looking for a beater).

Actual plan on this one is to pay it off quickly and buy a 2016 F250 so I can keep the Mustang for a weekend car.

Ouch. Turning that many new vehicles is an expensive list. Break the cycle and you are miles ahead.
Mine goes like this:
91 Ranger (paid off in 3 yrs)
2003 F150 cash - daughter is now driving that one
2014 Mustang (paid off 6 months)

If you have good credit, you'll get a good interest rate new or used. Buying a new car doesn't mean that you are getting a car in good condition.
Whether you buy new or used, a car is prone to break. If buying new meant so much towards vehicle condition, all manufacturers wouldn't need to offer a warranty. I've seen brand new cars break with less than 3,000 miles and I've seen used cars hold up very well. It's a gamble either way.

If you plan on keeping it, what does it matter?

If you plan on keeping, why pay more than needed?
I guess it only makes sense to me that I would rather spend $25 instead of $30 on the same car, get the same warranty and still do the same mods anyway. Why pay thousands more for the same thing?

Spending my money how I want does make me feel better. I'm sure that's mutual for everyone here .

If I by a car to keep it, I'm going to be something that is new, less prone to breaking, has been around through enough cycles to work out the bugs, and has a warranty.
How can you not agree with that?

You know, I had a long drawn out explanaition but, it's not worth turning this thread into a bickering match. We will all enjoy what we bought, new or used.

I'm not trying to bicker. You explanation might have helped me read into what you are trying to say better.

Fair enough.
Any performance car that I buy, I plan on modding at some point anyway. When I look at a car I see it as buying a lot of small parts, so if I plan to swap out, springs, struts, shocks, LCAs, intake, cam, pistons, rods etc etc, it doesn't make sense to pay $32k when I can spend $27, save money on mods or just have money WITH the same warranty .
If you(not you but just in general) planned to keep the car bone stock, then yes I see your point.
