Just clocked over 45k miles on my 2012. Enjoyed every mile of driving the car. Not afraid to drive it, especially since it is still within the factory powertrain warranty and covered by an extended warranty up to over 80k miles. I would plan to pay it off sooner but, I'd rather have cash on hand so I pay slightly more on my car payment and tuck the rest away in the piggy bank. Emergency money > less debt.

I got mine with the cpo 100k warranty. Why buy new?

Only people that are baller status buy new and like getting hit with instant depreciation. I'll never buy a brand new car. Ever.

you get better interest rates on new cars. Plus I bought mine brad new because with any used sports car you take a gamble with how the previous owner treated the vehicle. Plus there were not really any used '13s when I was looking and I didn't want a 11-12. It's nice knowing exactly how a car has been treated since day one and knowing for sure that all maintenance has been done on time and correctly.

If you have good credit, you'll get a good interest rate new or used. Buying a new car doesn't mean that you are getting a car in good condition.

Whether you buy new or used, a car is prone to break. If buying new meant so much towards vehicle condition, all manufacturers wouldn't need to offer a warranty. I've seen brand new cars break with less than 3,000 miles and I've seen used cars hold up very well. It's a gamble either way.

If you plan on keeping, why pay more than needed?

I guess it only makes sense to me that I would rather spend $25 instead of $30 on the same car, get the same warranty and still do the same mods anyway. Why pay thousands more for the same thing?

I assume mine will retain the factory 5/60 that came with it when the original owner bought it?

If that's the case I have until Nov of 2016 and I'll never hit 60k by then. My car ('11 GT/CS) was bought in 11/11 and I bought it in 2/13 with 11k miles on it. Right now it still only has 15k on it.

With good credit and car buying programs, you can get interest rates below 0.5% on new cars. That's free money to invest IMO. Combine with the peace of mind of a warranty for people who don't modify, I say why does anyone buy used anymore (unless you're looking for a beater).

If I by a car to keep it, I'm going to be something that is new, less prone to breaking, has been around through enough cycles to work out the bugs, and has a warranty.

You know, I had a long drawn out explanaition but, it's not worth turning this thread into a bickering match. We will all enjoy what we bought, new or used.
