Even had to report a 10yr old kid playing with her parents on some abandoned tracks that we never used while they waved at us. Only did it since a manager was doing a ridealong and it was proper procedure felt bad about it the whole time.
But it's just a formality right? This isn't going to come back to bite me in some weird way later will it?

no its mostly to do with the fra and homeland security, if they do an inspection or if they do a secret test to make sure they railroads are following procedures.
