Is it just the clutch? If so you wouldn't need to replace the entire compressor unit. Also you wouldn't have to evacuate the system either. I'd start with that.

Clutch assembly is 200, or for 405 get all new compressor with clutch assembly already attached. I'll check it out and if the original compressor is still good maybe I can sell it for a few bucks back or have a spare for when this one dies...

This experience (A/C dying so young) has left a sour taste in my mouth with the car. Hopefully after I get it fixed and back on the road I'll be happy again.
