Battery Died Again WTF
Battery died a few months after getting it. Don't have the receipt right now but couldn't have been more than 5k miles ago so I got a new battery from Ford. Now it's at work again clicking and won't turn over. Another dead battery wtf? Neither times was anything left on to draw power from the electrical system. Ideas?

Test your alternator.

Prolly a drain somewhere. Do you have aftermarket stereo or anything else electronic?

Will do. Perhaps this weekend if the problem persists.

Seems common with these cars. Motorcraft batteries were always really good. Wonder if they changed suppliers, or it is just this one size.

Mine is weak and I need to do something soon too. I want something light with good capacity, but cringe at the idea of a $1500 battery.

Parasitic drain...look for a light or anything small that is staying on. Highly doubt it's the alternator

Good God man, what kind of battery are you buying for that much money?

Just left O'Reilly's. Battery, alternator and starter all checking out fine. Really not sure what I could be leaving on.

I may have overlooked something earlier. I do eat in my car on lunch.

You can easily check the alternator with a dmm just start the car and put the leads on the positive cable and a good ground you should be getting 14+ v at the battery

For the draw test you need a dmm and amp clamp. Put the amp clamp on the battery positive cable with the arrow pointed towards the battery and let it sit for 30 min or so and come back the reading shouldn't be more than .2-.7 amps

It's not the alternator... A light will be on telling you it's not charging. Mine factory battery didn't lady 1000 miles and it was done. Since the new battery I haven't had an issue.
