Intake for a Non-tuned Car
I plan on keeping my car untuned and thus, stock power-wise, until the warranty expires. This car is my daily and I don't care for a tone of mods right now. It's more than enough fun as is. So with that being said, I would like to add an intake to compliment my axle-back and wondering what versions do you all recommend for a non-tuned car. Thanks in advance
-Alex

Air raid is pretty nice. Has an insert to stay untuned. Relive the insert and tune it when you want later on.

Unless it can easily convert to a tune required version...

Truth. Ran a K&N carbon fiber closed box with no tune for a while and there is no gain whatsoever. All the gains are in the tune.

Not necessarily looking for a gain in horsepower but, wouldn't an aftermarket intake breathe better than stock regardless if there is a tune?

If it didn't yield better power how could it be breathing any better?

Simply increasing the amount of air the engine is taking in won't increase the power. To increase power you have to maximize the efficiency of the air AND the fuel. You do that by tuning. Also you can have a car that makes a ton of power and it be with a crappy tune. Reference downtime!s recent thread.
