Next project - '82 Capri RS
I missed buying this car by a few days back before Christmas, and then, well, got involved with the blower project and all and just kind of forgot about her. The new owner PM'd me over at FEP and said he was thinking of selling her (he's in the military and is getting a new '13 GT), so I went and looked at her again, made an offer, and will be bringing her home tomorrow morning.
She's a 1982 Capri RS, with just 55,000 miles on the clock, sporting a fire breathing 302 HO with original 2 bbl carb making all of 157 HP. Sends all those ponies out back through an SROD 4 speed manual box. Except for the battery, radiator cap and plug wires, she is 100% bone stock under the hood.
The interior is Porno red and is damn near perfect. The only thing that doesn't work is the a/c and that probably just needs a charge. Has the original am/fm/8 track Premium sound system, and power locks.
The paint is completely original and like many silver cars Ford built in the 80's, there is no shine at all left on the car. I can buff a lot of it back, but there are places where the primer is showing through, so a paint job is in her future for sure. Interpart "Chastain" rear window louvers and original Turbine hubcaps complete the exterior.
All in all, I really wasn't looking for a restoration project, but this car is too nice to let someone hack up.

Just paint and then a full mechanical restoration and clean up. I've got a hot rod already, and the coupe, so this one gets to be stock.

Like the car and digging the porno red. My vert has porno red carpet and doors but white seats. Actually a nice contrast.

If it was T tops itd be perfect! Id try to find some rims like OG has, lower it and rock it stock with a tune up (and maybe a 4 barrel swap)...
LOVE the Capris without the Gremlin looking bubble glass rear window... and it has the good spoiler too! Good score!

Thanks! I'm really wanting a set of TR's of maybe the 16 hole rims they offered that year. A set of Enkei mesh in silver wouldn't be bad either though. And yep, that's the best spoiler.

Was it kind of dark shadow gray colored and missing some side trim? It might have been my old one.

LOL! Unless you have some work done, that would be the slowest race in forum history! I do want to talk to you about parts you take off that car now for sure though.

When you change the exhaust, I"d be interested in the stock twin tip. Other than that, any original parts you might get rid of, breather assembly, etc. Is the stock radio in that car?
