The pictures were taken in pitch black with what is called light painting. The pictures I saw while they were taking them didn't look too different, these are just a mash up of all the best parts of all the pics. They were like 25 sec exposure times I think

That's pretty sweet, I thought they had been taken at normal exposure then edited...
