Where to get exhaust installed?
Anyone know of a friendly shop in Dallas/Carrollton/Plano/Frisco that will install a set of cat-backs for me? They're sitting here in a box getting lonely.
Since Jack Junkies closed I don't have access to a lift or I'd do it myself - and no garage. I'm at the Tollway/Bush. |
Sorry brother, not familiar with that area. Only places I would say is Frank(Bacadiesel on here) but he lives in Keller. If you don't mind the drive to Irving, there are plenty of shops off Irving BLVD that would do it for $20ish.

I don't know of any shops but if you want to drive to McKinney sometime, I'm sure we can figure out how to get them on without a lift. I got plenty air and hand tools, and 2x10s to make a wooden ramp.
Something like this: http://images109.fotki.com/v779/phot...xhaust1-vi.jpg |
I installed mine in my apt complex using Rhino Ramps. They're pretty cheap at O'Reilly's.

Yeah it's pretty easy if you can work with tools. On my dads CS 5.0, We jacked the rear end, put on jack stands, and went to town. It's a bitch because you are on your back, but its all you can do.
If I remeber right, the hardest part was getting the stock exhaust off. It was a pain for us, trying to get the hangers separated from the rubber part. |
Man, Y'all are the best.
I went to B&B in Carrollton and got 'em done. We need a GTG. I'd have done them myself in a heartbeat if I had access to a lift. I'm too dang old and rotund to crawl under the car on ramps and/or jack stands. :anitoof: |
For future reference, Vorshlag in Plano. Excellent work and knowledge of the S197 Mustang.
