https://www.facebook.com/events/401948666585531/
Five Star Ford of Plano is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an open track day at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, TX on Saturday, June 29, 2013 7am-4pm. This event is open to all years, makes, and models of vehicles (excluding trucks). We will be providing instructors for all drivers that will need instruction. We will also be providing free lunch (this should be enough to get you to the track...lol). In addition, we will have a representative from Roush as a guest instructor. He will also be providing test drives for potential Roush buyers in his supercharged 2014 Roush Stage 3. If you want a chance to see what Roush Mustang can really do on the track, be sure to get a ride with him...you won't regret it! If you have any questions or would like to pre-register, please contact me directly via Facebook, email, work, or my cell phone. I will be sending out and email with the eFlyer for the event this evening so keep a watchful eye on your inbox for event information. All proceeds generated by this event will go to benefit The Holy Angels (just like our car shows). Looking forward to seeing you all at the track! The ride around the track sounds pretty cool if they actually beat on it
|
how much is it costing for the track day? i live 20 min from there, also is it just going to be a lead follow sessions or hot track with passing on straights? i have a couple cars id like to take out.
|
The price is $180 for the day including lunch
includes classroom training AND in car instructors (on track at speed) The novice spaces will fill up fast We plan on running 4 sessions per group and YES there will be passing on the straights Please note: this is not a race and there are no prizes. Our priority is SAFETY & TRAINING. |
Yea I understand. I run at eagles canyon alot in my other cars on there track days in the yellow group. Reason I asked about passing I straights is there are some people that don't like pointing cars by to pass and they hold up progress which makes it not enjoyable for the pack of cars trying to pass the people.

Too much to swing ATM for me. Hopefully soon after I get a few things paid off.
|
That's my birthday weekend. Hmmmm. Wonder if I can get brake pads, lines, and fluid done by then.

|
If everything goes well at hallet next week and I still have some money in my account i will be there! When does registration close?

We will review that up in the classroom time As an instructor, I share with my students is the "faster" car can always pit and then reenter the track and have no one in front of them.... ....just a thought.... |
I got a wedding to go to :(

Please provide more details!
My first time at the venue and tracking my own car. Would someone please break down the day? Number of sessions , laps per sessions, how the skillset breaks? Is there a schedule published anywhere?
What should I bring that would not be available at track? Water, need a pop up for shade? Can we rent covered paddock for day? Anything else I have not thought to ask? Thanks Frank P.S. any one want to rent a gopro either helmet mount or ? |

I'm Jerry Cecco, I'm assisting Corey White for the event. Get to the track no later than 7am There will be an ALL drivers meeting before we start and novices will have special novice meeting after the ALL drivers meeting We are planning this event to like our others for track time. Typically session will last approx 20mins, and you have about 4 sessions in one day. there will be 3-4 groups: novice, intermediate and advance/instructors During your driving sessions, you should inspect your car and then cool off and drink water. I understand Saturday temps will be in the 90's, so stay hydrated. ALL novices will have an instructor in the car with you during all sessions. the main differences between the classes is on track experience/skills. (NOT cars) The instructors will assist drivers to learn the "line" to move up to intermediate group, a driver needs to learn, understand and show on track car control. This will take some time. I did not advance to intermediate for a few track days. I also recommend drivers to stay in novice and LEARN from instructors. Schedule: I'll be working with Corey in finalizing the time schedule this week and we will be handing it out in the ALL driver meeting. We will have water at the track to drink, but I always suggest to drivers to bring your own cooler with water just in case. ECR has in large indoor meeting/cafe room. I would recommend all drivers to visit that air conditioned room several times a day to cool off. You can bring a pop up (many do) for your cars, but to stay cool use the air conditioned mtg room. Make sure you have your car tech inspected. You need to bring this to the track, see here: http://eaglescanyon.com/httpdocs/2008/home.php I would recommend that you make sure your brake pads and brake fluid newer and fresh. If you have not paid for the event, go here: (scroll 1/2 down the page) http://eaglescanyon.com/httpdocs/2008/payments.php Spaces will fill up ESPECIALLY for novices as we have a limited number of instructors. Any more questions, post here or email me directing at: [email protected] |
