Street challenges..
How often does someone pull up next to you in traffic trying to taunt you into a race? Surprisingly, it doesn't happen to me very often. I get lots of thumbs up and nice comments but not many challenges. I think I've had more diesel trucks try to run than anything else. lol.
I've been hoping to come across a Camaro SS, but most of the Camaros I see are V6's. |
I have yet to have anyone try to run me in the 5.0. happened in the mach from time to time. pretty funny to watch how fast they throw on the brakes and turn once I show them why I'm not going to race

Only had 1 run in the car so far. Not to say I haven't hoped for more.
My car looks like a v6 with no spoiler and no springs. Other than the exhaust and the 5.0 badge noone seems to notice me. |
I have it happen a lot in both my camaro and the mustang, although most people want me to rev or burn out in the mustang.

Just slow terminators and I always beat them.

I get it every once in a while but it's always the same asshole in a 5.0, but he enjoys the light show so I do it anyways. :idiot:

I've had a couple. One back in August when Nic and I were on our way home from Cars and Coffee. Some tard in a V6 Gen 5 Camaro...I embarrassed him in front of his girlfriend. The only other time was a Tahoe on 22s with an exhaust...I didn't feel like playing because I about to exit to meet up with Ryan.
I think most people actually respect these cars and know what they are capable of... |
I've only had a couple runs. One with a friend of mine and one with a ZL1. Only the ZL1 instigated the race. In my STi, everyone and their mom would rev at me wanting to race.

I've been thinking the same thing. I've been wanting to race a vette for a good while now, but NONE of them will ever race. A few days after I bought my car, I raced an 04 cobra on the highway and put a couple of cars on him. Last weekend, I raced an STI on the highway and put a couple of buses on him. Other than that, no ones down...

On my way to work just now some dumbass in a grey 5.0 kept weaving in anf out of lanes trying to egg me on I guess. Then gave me the what the hell look when I didnt oblige him.

You should've shown him your badge through the window. I would've loved to have seen his face after that!

Only a few random cars in the 5.0 but it seems like they always want to run in traffic. I had one clean run on the hwy with a 2V GT. He kept trying to honk it off but his car was so loud I couldn't tell. So I just told him to go he got out a car or so. I caught and pulled him pretty quick. He was cool about it he looked suprised.
Every car Ive had or driven with a big cam gets everyone in the world wanting to race. From mini vans to welding trucks lol. |

Normally what I do and its priceless. I think he lives in the city somewhere so I'm sure ill see him again ;-)

I must have a target on mine, I can't go anywhere without someone wanting to go. Seems like its always an older guy in new Vette.

i guess i live too far from Dallas and the nicer cars...no one ever wants to run out here and if they do, its not worth an ounce of gas.

I've had one challenge on 121 against a vette and I raced him twice and beat him both times. He wanted to go again and I had to go home so I exited and he rolled down his window and shot me the finger. Typical vette douche.

I pulled up to a red light in Mckinney on 380 yesteday and a really nice 2001ish camaro SS pulled up next to me and started reving up. I couldn't resist. I had about 3 cars on him before I started to break for the next red light and he flew past me running the light.
Other than that I have had my car almost a year and no one tries to challenge. When I had my 98 z28 I got someone trying to race everytime I pulled it out of the garage. |
Very rarely, but I did have a Camaro SS pull on me not long ago and I walked its ass.

I've had two... One was a some fucking gay Scion... whooped its ass***.
Then a month ago around 12am on Sunday morning I came up on a Black 2013 GT500 and that dude wanted to throw down. I knew I was going to lose but did it anyways. Honestly all I get though is thumbs up and people drooling. Then ill get some that want me to drop it and do a quick 3 second pull. |

When I had my 03 Cobra I got it all the time, mostly from slow cars not worth racing, but there were a lot of good ones too. Only once since I've had the GT, about a week after I bought it in April I came across a new Camaro with exhaust and I assume a tune, he took off before I did but neither of us pulled on or away from each other. My car was completely stock with the auto and 3:15's at the time.

I got hit up twice in one week by motorcycles! LOL! One was a motocross looking dirtbike through town and the other was a decked out Harley cruiser on the highway! Those are the only two I've had in the year I've owned my '12.

Haven't had any challenges yet, although I have met plenty of Dodge Challengers at a stoplight. Did encounter a dickhead Jaguar XK in Plano (go figure) who was real obnoxious with acceleration next to me, just to turn off into a neighborhood shortly thereafter.

I had a guy try to race me a couple weeks ago while I had both my boys in the back seat. He was pissed I wouldn't run him. I'm not going balls to wall with my kids in the car.
