Christmas came early for my 5.0 :)
Well I ordered all my suspension, aluminum 1 piece driveshaft and my Borla stinger catback. Heres some pics of it all installed :)
The stang is now becoming quite a monster now that my traction has increased greatly even on the stock tires. Some 19x9.5 and 19x11 forgestars will be my next mod along with some Michelin pilot super sport rubber. Thanks to El_Tortuga and Bacadiesel for helping me install the suspension! I couldnt have done it without your guys help.. :) Some pics of the goodies.. Really pissed off the UPS guy this week, hahaha http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps82c3b03d.jpg Borla Stainless Stinger catback (you'd think for 1,200 bucks the damn thing wouldve been polished stainless) http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps8fad3f26.jpg Strange adjustable struts /w BMR springs http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psa60643b1.jpg BMR LCA's, BMR relocation brackets and sway bar relocation kit ( so I can run 15x10 slicks at the track when i eventually am boosted) http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps43724989.jpg BMR panhard and panhard brace http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps192ac17d.jpg BMR UCA mount and adjustable UCA http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps66f0600c.jpg BMR rear shocks and Viking double adjustable shocks (ended up having to remove the panhard relocation bracket because it was not letting the sway bar sit right when the weight was on the axle..) http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psf9ba1dbf.jpg Borla Stinger catback http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps135c3c64.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psa03423f4.jpg Ended up having to pay a performance shop to install half my catback because I couldnt get the stock pipes out over the axle. On jackstands this was impossible http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...pse9e1bff7.jpg Driveshaft Shop aluminum 1 piece driveshaft This mod alone proved to me its worth as much as the tune performance wise, it really increased acceleration a ton. http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psb6dcc6d4.jpg |
All looks great man! Really coming along nicely.

In the rush to get through, we forgot to check camber and toe. Whoops.
I was wondering how you snaked the pipes. If you are still getting the buzzy vibe at certain RPMs when cold, you might recheck that all the clamps are tight. Enough with the explicit details. Lets see how the car sits. I don't think I even looked at it from the side when we finished. |

I'll take a outside pic little later today when I get home. What setting do you keep your koni yellows on for everyday driving? It bounces a lot with bumps i cant even see. I figure i just need to adjust my struts and shocks settings |
I would have just dropped the rear end down for the pipes... Looks like you had fun.

The driveshaft made a pretty big difference? With how quickly it revs? Just really curious if its worth it.

looks real good, im on the fence about a one piece drive shaft so im glad to hear it helps out so much.
getting the stock pipes off was a bitch, i jacked the car up as far as it would go, put it on stands, then put a 4x4 block on the jack and jacked it up as high as it would go and raised the jack stands some more. took the jack out and went over to one side and started jacking the side up. essentially the whole car was off the ground at one point but i got it...lol. i refuse to pay a shop to do that so i do it myself and then bitch about it. hope those borlas sound good, that's a lot of dough for pipes |

Don't forget to drill weep holes in the Borla Mufflers, they will collect a lot of water. Looks great though! I'm sure its a blast to drive!

Why do they do this? Is it only Bora that has this problem? |

They sound much louder now that the material has dried out.. Glad I read about them needing to be drilled.. Heres another BMR suspension mod I did this week. Thier tubular radiator support /w sway bar mounts. (they said it took off 10lbs from the stock piece) I didnt have a scale but it sure felt closer to 12-14lbs lol http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psrt5fh78t.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps1fw3stx6.jpg Only thing really left to buy suspension wise for the stang is the BMR K member and the tubular a-arms.. Probably start saving for those soon as i get rid of these damn stock rims and tires.. |
You have spared no expense! I bet the ride is ridiculous. Talk about performance!
My only quibble is that people who purchase a $1200 Borla exhaust system shouldn't have to drill holes in the exhaust. Borla needs to fix that. |

Finally got rid of the stock POS pirelli P-zeros and OEM rims!! I found a deal on one of the Forums on a brand new set of Forgestar CF-5's Way too good to pass up.. 2,300 bucks with Brand new Tires and rims that where never evenm mounted on his mustang :) These tires and rims easily retail for 3,700 bucks with tires and TPMS monitors and locking lugnuts.
God I love the look, looks SICK.. Specs of the tires and rims are: 20x9" Front with Michelin Pilot super sport 265/35ZR/20 20X11" Rear with Michelin Pilot super sport 285/35ZR/20 http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps4677afd5.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psdf9cb00a.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psd3c97d01.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psa2d436cf.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...ps5fe15f6b.jpg http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/v...psaaf961ac.jpg |
Looks Prefect. Other than that awful flag in the background

Wheels and tires look great. Definitely a good match for the car color.

Wheels and tires look sick man! I bet you're loving the new found traction too!! I know i did with my Michelin PSS's

yep i can still spin the wheels even with my suspension mods and michelin pilot super sports, but it is way way less than with the crappy oem pirelli p zeros. It bites hard off the line and usually most of my tire spin happens when i speed shift into second gear the ass end kicks out sideways and i end up having to feather the throttle before burying it all the way.
i'm sure when summer rolls around this probably won't be the case but who knows by summer I'm hoping to have the car boosted either with a VMP tvs2300 or JPC large single turbo kit on E85 probably with 650+ rwhp |
