New Best in the KB 2012!
Went out to Ennis today for the Camaro/Mustang grudge match. My previous bests in the 1/4 had been an 11.2@125. This week I converted the car to E85. I wasn't sure how much power it picked up because it was dyno'd on a different dyno than before. Using the same pulley, this morning I made my first pass.
1.62 60' 7.118@ 101.22 1/8th [email protected] 1/4 I was pretty happy with that! Temps were in low 70's. It picked up a true 5mph and .3. So then the cold front rolls in and temps drop into the high 50's. My next pass was another new best. 1.553 60' 6.804 @ 104.09 1/8th [email protected] 1/4 DAYUUUMMMM!!!!! I made one more pass just to back it up and ran: 1.585 60' [email protected] 1/8th 10.678@ 131.95 1/4 Overall, I'm VERY pleased and can't believe how much faster it ran on the same pulley. |

Quick calculator work shows you to be making right at 750 Doug. E85 does work! LOL!
|
Congrats on the times, Doug! That's awesome!
|
Flywheel? That'd be about right. Around 630-640 at the wheels would be my guess.

Just for fun, I plugged your numbers into the Dragtimes D/A calculator. You know it's good weather in Texas when the correction factor actually slows you down!
Correct your ET and MPH using the DA (Beta Testing) Density Altitude: 553 feet above sea level 1/4 mile ET:10.512 seconds 1/4 mile trap speed: 134.47 MPH Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines 10.468 @ 134.987 MPH Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines 10.53 @ 134.427 MPH Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines 10.518 @ 134.405 MPH |
I was curious what the DA was....just checked it myself as well. I had no idea it was that low. No wonder The times were so good! I'll probably never duplicate it! Lol!

For some reason I can't find the thread or youtube video but, wasn't there a white NA car that was in the tens with barely any mods accept DRs? Downtime, you remember who that was right?
-Alex |
Doug, what wheels are on your car?
|
Racestars 17/15 for the track
Euro trek UO02's 19x8.5/9.5 for the street |

There is a white NA car with some very effective mods that goes 10s though... and a gray one, too. names are kdanner and wbt, they both post here |

gray car now has a pre-production FRPP CJ street CAI I now have wbt's 2010 4.6 Airaid intake on my car while I wait for the production version of the FRPP CJ street CAI |

So when do you get to head back out to resume your testing? |
Here is a pic of the intake FRPP will be shipping soon:
http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...psdef60b3d.jpg kdanner's car has been 10.6's, mine has been 10.8's. Both in non-optimal air conditions. BTW - the tune is very safe. I use the same tune on the street that I use at the track. |
Quote:
These new 5.0's just seem to rewrite most of the rules we learned along the way as far as how to tune goes. What worked good on a 2V or a 3V does not translate out well to a new 4V. Ya'll seem to have a pretty good handle on it though! If I ever do ditch the blower, maybe I can con ya'll into a tune. |

I do believe the white car will be in the 10.5-10.4 range very soon. Just need a good track and some good air to get there. Still running a stock Roadrunner setup with a CJ intake. Probably next year sometime a 2013 CJ engine combo (cams, pistons, over bore) will be put together for it and I expect low 10's. Working on a few things with my car and hope to have it in the 10.6's in the not so distant future. |

With respect to the OP we can take this topic to another thread. Doug, great times :)
-Alex |
Respect? What's THAT? LOL!
<--like Rodney Dangerfield....lmao |
Sorry for the hijack. Congrats on the awesome times Doug, you got that thing rolling pretty good. :mexsmoke:
|
congrats on your new Doug, you have got it running pretty damn good.
Now those passes are faster than the vert now right? |
Yep, that was my goal for this car. Newer, nicer, A/C, inspection, and FASTER than the 'vert. (10.8@127). Mission accomplished! Now, how about some NINES! LOL!
