Who has a watt's link installed?
Who has a watt's link installed? I'm thinking this is my next mod. I need better cornering stability, especially on the tollway. Does it keep the axle more planted like they say. Hopefully it eliminates the corner hop/see saw action altogether. I also read Steeda's new rear X brace helps with this as well.

The watts link completely changed the rear end of the Boss. The typical issue when going over uneven roads and bumps are now taken care of however, I would advise getting a front sway bar, with the ass end completely planted you'll turn your car into a snow plow. Meaning that your car won't turn and will keep wanting to go straight. I wasn't a "believer" until I put one on the car.

I want a watts link :(
Good to know Jayman. I'm stacking my chips now for that watts link. It will probably be late fall before I make a move. It will defintely be a Christmas gift.
I run the Fays 2. It's cool I guess.
Had watts link on my 07...wheel hop gone...but like Jason said I had to get an aftermarket front sway bar to help with turning as it dug in HARD!
what sway bars did you guys go with...BMR..Whiteline? I'm trying to plan everything ahead of time.
I might grab the sway bar now and just sit on it.
I run the Eibach sways.
I run Eibachs too and love them.

Cool, I'm leaning towards the Eibach sway bars to match my Pro Kits. I'm glad to hear the Whiteline watt's link works very well. I was a little concerned about them based upon that UCA incident.
Anybody have any input on the Fays 2 watts link? It's a different design and is much cheaper. Is one design better than the other? I beleive I read somewhere that the Steeda and WhiteLine "on-axle" watt's link designs don't meet SCCA regulations or something like. |

We've installed a lot of the Whiteline Watts Links, and in fact tested some of the first production units. We've put them on street cars, autocross cars, track cars, and everything in between.

It comes with a new diff cover (which has several side benefits of its own), elastomer bushings (not metal spherical bearings), and an adjustable Roll Center. http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/Racing-E...wheelcam-M.jpg Click above for the "wheel cam" video to see axle movement on street tires in an autocross. Note: This car had an aftermarket tubular BMR Panhard Bar. Why Is A Watt's Better? These keep your car's axle from moving around like mad under lateral loads, lower the rear roll center, and give you a linear axle movement under suspension bump travel. There is a lot of benefit from a Watts Link over a PHB set-up, which I detailed in this post, but they have one downside - cost. http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/Projects..._DSC4136-M.jpg Sure, there are more things to adjust, too, but it really isn't adjusted much once you get the roll center height and lateral location of the axle set. Not every shop understands that, of course, and we have actually fixed installs done at other places. But it isn't hard. http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/Racing-E...DSC_8552-M.jpg Will it cure axle hop? Dandruff, gout or male pattern baldness? I don't know about all of that. I just know that I have street driven, autocrossed, and tracked with the WL Watts on several cars and they were easier to drive, dead quiet in use, had faster transitions/slaloms, and showed much less lateral axle/tire movement than with a PHB. We've beat on our 2011 GT with a WL Watts for over a year, using 295mm street tires and up to 345mm width Hoosier A6 race tires for a year and it has been great. http://vorshlag.smugmug.com/Racing-E...C_4613-3-M.jpg |
Great info. I may have to go for a ride on the 7th. This is definitely my next mod.
