Oklahoma Meet "Purpose Built FB group".
We had our first meet this past Saturday and the turnout was pretty good. 20 cars or so showed up a few wrecked getting a little excited on the corners but all in all it was a pretty gd day. I got drug by an Rx7 as well.:gasp: Here are a few pics.
At the Burger Shack getting some grub. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps88945924.jpg Everyone gassing up except me. I got 93 before I left Tx! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps4c526029.jpg We headed to the first spot in Turner Falls for some pics! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psc09aa753.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps8bfedd47.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps73a6ad92.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps4cb82028.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps953556ff.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps27c90532.jpg Then we headed from Turner Falls to Doughtery, Ok a little town nestled in the Arbuckles. Not much here just 1 little store. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps5ab852a1.jpg Then from Doughtery we headed to the pass. It was here disaster struck. I was following the Rx7 through tight elevation changing sweepers when there appeared dirt in the road from the Rain we had on Friday. I barely managed to slow down but the Rx8 behind me had no such luck. He spun and over corrected sending him intothe fence. Car ran but the front bumper was trashed. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps1de98f8c.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps18154c35.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...pse9f07d76.jpg After stopping for Fried Pies lol we headed to the pass. this just some pics that were taken on top. Great time up here. Heading up the pass! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psd7920d30.jpg On top! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps0923a90b.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps72cc2868.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps758c368a.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps6aad3451.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps9d2fabcc.jpg All in all it was a fun day. Made alot of new friends, the next one is in October and will most likely be alot larger. Get on Fb and look us up! |
So more details about this? I've driven to Tuner Falls, which isn't a bad drive, and may be interested in doing this while camping there for a night or two.
|
Basically we start out at Davis and head to Sulphur. After that its alot of back roads with new pavement and then to the mountain by Falls Creek. The mountain has brand new paved roads!!!
|
So y'all take Hwy 1 towards Ada?

The land around Turner Falls was formerly owned by the parents of the wife of one of the brothers of my father. They donated it to the Baptist church that runs the camp there back early last century. My dad and his siblings grew up in Davis and learned to swim there at the falls. I've spent a lot of time around there and the switchbacks and hairpins on the old road off of I35 can be fun.
|
We had alot of fun. Some had too much judging by the pics. The Blue Rx7 made a little over 500whp on a mustang dyno.

A ricer meet you say? Lol we were drving through the curves and the rain had washed out dirt onto the road. We all about lost it going 45mph. In all your infinate wisdom. Lol Come on up and im sure that "ricer" rx7 will drag ur ass eveerywhere. If you notice there was nice tbss, 5.0's, evos, and we were all just enjoying the day.
|
My wisdom is not infinite, but it doesn't have to be to know that:
- dude was going WAY faster than 45mph - ricer meets are nothing but trouble - this is a ricer meet: http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f3...ps88945924.jpg Glad you had a great time, looks like fun! |

What does the RX being fast have to do with rice? That picture is clearly 99% import content, and that's not domestic. Import = rice.
It appears like a couple of Mustangs tagged along on an import cruise. Interesting fact, but I've been on literally hundreds of back road cruises over the years, and not once has anyone ever run through a fence. Spirited driving has its place, and this was obviously not it. |

Import=car domestic=car Rice= dumbass behind the wheel buring out, revving, neon lights. I.e this vid. http://www.ricekiller.com/ |

I'm willing to bet my "ricer" has been faster and quicker. |

You have the world's biggest rice chip on your shoulder. "Rice" is a pejorative for any car made in Asia, get over it.
I don't recall asking to "race the 7," especially with the driving skill demonstrated by your friends. And even Will would tell you that is a ricer meet, lmfao. |

You ricer guys are all the same. Some dude that lives at home dumps tons of money into some shitbox and then all his friends start calling out random people on the internet to race his car. LMFAO!
How about, no thanks buddy, I will just continue to drive my stock car around like a grandpa and watch you get you all worked up like a two-year-old with a dirty diaper. |

Maybe.

RICE = Radically Immature Car Enthusiast. Owning an import does not automatically equal rice.
But as Bryan said, if some of those drivers were truly not immature, they would have realized that in order to do a back roads cruise, you don't just jump on the road and drive spiritedly. You have someone check the road for any trouble spots to avoid exactly what happened to the RX8. You also must know how to handle your car and the limits of your car as well. |

We obviously have two different definitions of rice in here. To some rice is anything that looks like it went through the local Autozone with a giant magnet and put everything they could find on the car. To others its anything made in Asia. IMO its both. anything modified from honda, mazda, etc is rice, as well as any domestic that is way over done. you meet did have a lot of rice in my opinion and you getting a butt hurt when people say that only makes it worse. I will never like the RX7 or RX8. Rotary motors are shit, there is a reason they never caught on. Are there some out there that are fast? of course but there is also fast Civics, smart cars, Kias etc. Just because it is fast does not mean its not rice. And funny how you mention DKC when there was a meet there 2 days ago..... I noticed you did not post in the thread or show up for that matter....

I have trouble following your threads. Import meet-rx8 trash runs off road-race my friends rx-7-official ricer definitions-im DKC king come race me. Calm down. You attended an import/rice meet, as long as you had fun who cares. |
Funny story it's my group I started. I notice considerable flaws in the mustang in the pass. Its a rolling motherfucker. That being said the rx8 in gd hands would most likely hand a stang it's ass in that pass.
|
Apparently not.
|
Bhahaha Danny!

I'm a no driving drag racer and I've been faster then that. Also LMFAO at you trying to say that a very well documented troublesome motor was trouble free for you because "you know what you're doing". Thats like me claiming my stock bottom end 5.3L truck motor made 3400rwhp because I can read plugs.... |

That "74.6" is a lap time at Dallas karting complex in seconds. Lol 0Boost (Kent) would hand you your ass on a silver platter at DKC. He cut 75.1s which getting spun out on every heat. He normally cuts 73s with easy there, with a PB of 72.x. Your 74.6 was probably running the 70+ MPH karts, or the DD2... |
Just the entry rental karts. 74 was on a damn hot day. Hey what an I say I know rotaries. If it was troublesome I never had trouble? I paid alot of attention to everything on my rx7 though. Lots of xtra care.
|
I say lets all get together and settle it.
