cold air intake
Looking to buy a cold air intake seeing what u guys think its for a v6 I can buy airaid and get about 13 ho for 269 are I can buy jlt paint matched to my car for 279. And get 13-15hp
what would yall do? |
Your getting a tune right? I'd get the one you like the looks of the best. They all preform about the same no matter what the manufacturer claims.
Not at the moment just gunna get the intake for now and tuner later
Despite what everyone says, you are save running an intake without a tune, unless the MAF location and intake tube sizes are HUGELY different, as the flowrates would be way too far off for the car to adjust for.
So just pick which one you want. :D |
Go with JLT buddy.
Your not really gonna feel any difference with just the intake. Just get a whistling sound and maybe a bit better throttle response.
Yea I'm looking to improve the shitty throttle responses
JLT & get it paint matched. Never liked the logo on the Airaids.
Nitrous helps improve throttle response.:anitoof:

If Im correct, I think the JLT requires a tune. Airraid does not

Install a Jlt intake today on a v6, can verify that it does not need a tune and is very simple to install. Go with Jlt buddy
The 3.7 can probably take a 50-75 shot. Stock coyote motors are good for 75-100
Airaid makes a great intake that doesn't require a tune. I didn't feel much from mine, maybe a wee bit more throttle response, a few more ponies, and some whistle noises. You wont get 10-15 w/o a tune.
I called and talked to jlt and they said there intakes are gaining 10-15 with out a tune on 93. And they have the dyno sheets to prove it so not sure if the would lie and airaid dyno shows 13 with no tune and 20 with a tune

I used to run the carbon fiber k&n intake and I can tell you there is NO noticeable gain without a tune.
yes I know there not gunna be much of change in feel but 10-15hp ur not really gunna feel at all u will notice the quicker throttle response and a sucking sound under the hood im just trying to see if u guys have had better luck with jlt are airaid as for as cold air intakes im just looking for better throttle response that would be worth the money spent for me cause my v6 sucks in throttle response it takes forever to kick down and have to push harder on the gas to pick up speed just wont that fixed if any of u guys have ideas on how to fix that too let me know please I know I need to tune it but that's on the back burner for now
To be honest I really did not notice much more in terms of throttle response. Tune is where things are really going to be waken up.
i had the jlt carbon on my 11 v6, throttle response was noticeable
I would throw an intake on that focus st if I were you
Lol its intake and pos tune will be comeing after my intake only reason I will tune it first is cause it already sets low and will responed better cause of the turbo
Man save a little more and get a hand held tune. It's worth it. Talk to ant speed about modding the v6 . He knows most of what you can and can't do to those engine's.
If u could get him to this link that would be great thanks
I will say that after I installed my K&N 63 series, I could tell a small difference in the upper RPM power range. It definitely pulled a litle bit harder up top than it did stock, but just enough to be noticed.
I know a guy who selling his jlt intake, but it requires a tune.
if you guys are interested, he posted a link on craigslist http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/3897327519.html The guy gots a nice 2013 black gt and showing of your dfw50 sticker Thats how i found you guys and decide to join the club. |

How many miles are on it? |
Yeah I'd do cai/tune on the stang and cai/tune turbo back exhaust for the ST, and than get a turbo timer ordered for it.
