Hello All,
I recently traded in my 2010 GT for a 2012 and wanted to introduce myself. A buddy of mine out in FL referred me to this site and the facebook page. Name is Jason and go by "Boomer" on forum's, my recent addition is a 2012 GT that has 4k miles on it. The new car is the exact same color as my old one which wasn't planned that way when purchasing, it just happened. Mods: -Pypes Super System Catback Exhaust -Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump -Ford Racing K Series Springs -Maximum Caster/Caster Plates -Staggered 20" rims with 295's in the rear -HID Head/Fog lights -LED Bulbs for the Interior Lighting -LED Backup Lights The previous owner installed these mods, at this time, there are no engine mods, everything is bone stock. Feel free to take a look at my webpage below for additional pix. Thanks!! More Pix Here: http://razzi.me/albums/25035-2012-mustang-gt-5-0 |

Thanks! I sent the guy a PM so I could get some info from him. Biggest thing is was it retuned after pulling the parts off. The gearing is throwing the speedo way off approx 20mph so the dealer is looking at that tomorrow.

Welcome

Welcome, did you get the car from Bankston of Burleson? I might be able to give a shout to my buddies there for you.

Dammit, I was hoping to see that car around Burleson a few more times in person. LOL
Welcome to the site man! Definitely a very clean car you got yourself! |
I know the owner, I bought some of the mods that were previously installed on this car.
Welcome to the site Nice ride |

Welcome

Thanks everyone!

I'm pretty sure I know the guy that did the work for him on it, not sure if he pulled the parts off though. He owns a turbo car so I'd assume he didn't just remove the parts and not retune it. Standby and I'll see what else I can find out.

Just got word, he said the car is currently on the factory tune and that he had installed the nitrous and had it tuned but never sprayed it.

Welcome! That's Brand's old car. Very clean! It had a Zex wet kit on it, but as you said, it was never sprayed other than on the Dyno.
|
Thanks guys! The car is nice but I had a lot of issues today with the dealership because they didn't inspect the car properly. The hid kit on it didn't have a dual mode so there were no brights. The driver side was burned out, the ballast had a crack in it because it came loose from the tape it was secured to. Instead of replacing with a new kit that has high/low beam they removed everything even out of the fog lights and its all back to OEM spec even though they said they would replace with HID.
Because the car has 4.10's in it Ford is telling the dealer they can't recalibrate the ecu or it voids the warranty. It has the factory warranty but I bought extra to cover any issues. So long @$$ story,, but they are going to have HPP Racing recalibrate the speedo to read correctly but if the car ever needs transmission or rear end work done, I have to have the calibration removed in order for them to warranty any work. It's become a pain in the @$$ right now and I will need to put a panhard bar on it since the aftermarket one was removed before it was traded in and the rear is off center. Yes the car is nice and hopefully I don't have any issues down the road because of this gearing! Headlights I can deal with for now. End of rant! Lol! |
That car isn't even broken in yet

Second, is the inconvenience of having the speedo calibration removed "if" I ever have to have transmission work done in order for the warranty to be honored. I have no clue what brand of aftermarket gears are installed, or if the center gearing is used or new simply based off the previous owners post and his mods list. Because it says sorta built cobra rear center, thats what concerns me is all. |
I'd keep all records for sure, if you bought a car that the dealer said is under factory warranty you have no obligation to fix anything that is normally covered. They can send it to HPP or wherever or put it back to stock but that's not on you. Sounds like the tech who passed it through the used vehicle inspection didn't do his job. Not having high beams and them passing it off is an instant giveaway.
|
Your right Luke boomer go back and raise hell cause.they should have checked everything on it don't pay for anything that's there job because they sold u a car with warranty and they can't warranty aftermarket make them put 3.55 gears in it that are under warranty u raise enough hell they will fix it
|
Hey i sent ya a pm with my number. Don't let the dealer fuck you. Call me asap. I can help ya out.

Boomer, hope everything worked out for you. And Luke is right, used car tech didn't do his job. I'm a used car tech at my dealership. Interesting how the car passed state without high beams
