RE-introducing myself
What up it's Blue Devil, I bought a 82 Gt Fox over the weekend. Got a great price on it. The car is pretty much factory stock aside from an 8.8 rear end, 5 speed transmission, aluminum driveshaft, and a driveshaft loop. I have big plans for the hatchback. Already have some parts waiting to go on in the garage. Need to create a build thread soon!

Soooooo sick. Cant wait to see some videos of that thing too.

I like it, all the way down to the hideously awesome wheels! What are the engine plans?

Words cannot express how AWESOME this will be! :headbang:

Yes! It was awesome riding around in it yesterday picking up goodies :D

RE-introducing myself
Congrats! Going to be fun!

Very cool. Don't see them around in that condition much anymore and it will look great in the Saleen bodykit if you choose to go that route.

Looks slow.

HOLY shit sickness...
Lose the louvers on the back window, keep those wheels and whitewall tires... rock some Hoosiers with the white walls out.:rockit: The 82 has the best spoiler, Id keep it as is body wise. The black Saleen replica looks cool, but they didnt make 82 Saleens, so it will look out of place imo. The stock GT front bumper and spoiler make that car... absolutely kick ass. Id keep the stock tail lights on it too if they are still in tact. Should be the old style Mercury looking ones, not the Cobra look alikes that came along in 83... Also, if it doesnt have it yet, dual exhaust is a must, it will totally wake up the car. Congrats and best of luck with it. feel free to send me a pm if you have questions, I know a little about the old Fox Bodys.;) Edit, and lower it so it looks like your sig... very nice! |
Got springs last night for it

Hey man! Cool car.
It reminds me of my old '80 hatchback. Someone had swapped all the suspension and drivetrain from an '86 SVO into it. It even had gold Saleen 16x7 and 16x8 wheels on it when I got it. One day a guy flagged me down on 75 asking to buy them. He had a real Saleen and had mangled one of his originals. I got $1500 for the set back in '98! I eventually put a Dart Jr headed 302 in it with a C4 and a 100-shot. It went 7.38 @ 96 just WALKING out of the hole. It had a really tight converter. I swapped in a T5 and it felt a lot faster, especially out of the gate, but someone stole it before I could run it again. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...goldwheels.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g/20yrsold.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ng/Mustang.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...g/DSC00063.jpg |

It's not very fast now, but it was okay for the time.
I always dug the front end on the '79 Pace Car / '82 GT. Keep us posted with your mods. |
