Man, I got an INCREDIBLE bonus this year at work, so although I haven't bought anything yet for the car, I've been windowshopping like a MOFO! LOL! Still on the fence about what PA I wanna add, but seem to be narrowing it down to a PD since I'm auto and I should be able to run the quickest without many other supporting mods. Decisions, decisions... oh and did I mention I'm the cheapest man on the planet, so I like to get a good deal on things when I buy 'em!

Congrats Doug! Whatever you do I'm sure it will be fun. I highly recommend a good hard look at the Roush TVS. :)

Doug1227 12-28-2012 04:22 PM

Yep Steve, that's basically the (2) I'm considering. The TVS and the KB. I hate that there's not more information (real world) from people running the KB. I've talked to one owner that feels the TVS may offer better low end torque than KB, but the KB will offer more upside if I ever go big. The TVS is probably a little more efficient at low boost levels.

My new KB will be on in a week or so, just waiting on HPP to get a few more parts in. Manny had a really good deal, just couldn't pass it up. Thought I was done with FI, guess not. Looking at the Roush kit though, they do seem to have stronger torque output down lower, but I do like the fact that the KB will grow with whatever I decide to do later on. Just a TB change can net 75 hp or more when upgrading to their 168 mm unit.

Yes sir, spot on there. Either one will be fun for you, just depends on how far you eventually decide to go. I recently rode in a Roush car and it is amazing what it can do with so little boost. Definetly the way I am going. :)

Sounds like a plan, sir. :)

I would go TVS if I were going with a blower.

OEM quality and looks is hard to beat.

The money to pay off the GT500 strut mounts, koni Strt.s, and steeda sports I wanted and installed on thanksgiving.

I have been happy with the Magnuson, quality is good and it looks factory.

Was the issue with the intake ever resolved? I know Travis on SVTP was helping them R&R one for the Maggie. The Maggie is a really good deal for the money if they could get it worked out.

Looks perfect to me.

I could probably get by with a lower end kit, maybe just the tuner + a BAP....but for about $1000 more, I can get the big injectors, heat exchanger upgrade, elbow, JLT, etc. Seems like a decent deal. I've got some 60#'s that I could sell instead of using if I go that route. I'm trying to find out if the kit I linked includes the BAP, and some other smaller pieces... I'm finding conflicting info on the web.

Give Justin a call and ask the source. He's a great guy to deal with, and a very good tuner as well.

DirtyD 12-29-2012 12:30 PM

I can vouch for Justin. He tuned my truck via email tune, and it was great. Stand up guy as well. A buddy of mine does all his own custom tuning at his shop and knows him fairly well. He'll say the same thing.

I will vouch for Justin as well, he tuned my Shelby and is my current tuner for my 5.0L. If your looking at a TVS system you should call him because he's almost ready to release a new kit for the 5.0L that is ported and more efficient then the base roush kit, and I hate to say it but the TVS is his baby and he tunes that combo better then anyone else. I watched him install and tune 8 TVS kits at shelbyfest last year in two days and dyno tuned each one to 640/640 which was very impressive. He's a good guy and has great customer service

I just finished reading his write up. I am still using the stock airbox so I would bet I have the same result. She has yet to be on a dyno, we didn't have time to do any runs before we took her to Vegas for SEMA and I have been too busy trying to catch up at work since I got back. It looks like I will need to see if Maggie has finished up their CAI for this system and if they have get a custom tune after that. If they haven't I will just get my tune done on the stock intake for now.

Doug1227 12-29-2012 02:26 PM

The link I posted above is his new kit which has an upgraded heat exchanger, ported elbow, and portmatched blower to the elbow, JLT big air, injectors, etc.

Did you end up ordering the Roush or the KB, Doug?

Doug1227 01-02-2013 07:50 PM

Neither yet. Wanna see downtime's results on the kb first.
