Am I the only one that is thinking if this key unlocks a different tune.... Could lets say a e85 tune be one one key and a 93 tune be on another? Or maybe a 93 on one and race gas in the other? Gonna e -mail Aed about this idea. Shaun mentioned that the aftermarket just can't activate it but never said they can't play with it.

How or where do we find the build date on a 2013 GT?
|
Saw the post on Allford stating that it will work on any 2013-2014 MT-82 car.
Called Ford Racing parts and spoke with Tom.....this will only work on 2014MY GTs built after July 1, 2013. He read an email he received from one of the engineers and that's what they said. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :( |

The additional engine braking is nice, but otherwise, meh.
There is no extra hp from the TrackKey, and the aftermarket tunes don't work when the computer is in it's TrackKey mode. At least that's the case on the Boss 302s. |
well it the ford tune only on that key. just got word from the tuner and said NOPE. would have to have ford software and on top of that ford would get all butt hurt and hes with in good standings with them right now.

oh hi....let me put in my .02
the tracKey is a PCM program. Basically its just a tune for the module....THATS IT. I programmed my own trackey. basically it's Ford's MyKey technology. There is nothing special about the key itself. Basically when you buy that key, all you get is a voucher ID (no "magic" key). To download and program the software you just need to go to Ford's website, enter the voucher ID, and program the PCM with Ford's scan tool. During the program process it tells you to insert the key you want as the "trackey"...stick that one in the ignition and it remembers that key's ID as the one associated with the performance tune on the PCM. |
also, I would expect the PCM program to work on any 5.0L mustang....(I haven't confirmed) but its the same PCM....same engine....same everything, so I don't foresee why it would not work.
I think the trackey was more used because they built a race engine and then had to regulate it down for emissions and drivability. So the Trackey is in turn, Ford's attempt of saying....hey, we made a race car....but the government has us by the balls....so take out those restrictor plates on your side exhaust (because there are already gaskets in there for you once you take out the restrictor plate), and then program your trackey. apparently its also been proven that the trackey doesn't give you anymore horsepower. I haven't seen any of the dyno test results, but that's what I heard. But I can tell you it definitely gives you better throttle response and a lot more engine braking. |
Check here to see your build date and build sheet.....

Build date should be on your door jam

It just uses my key. . That's pretty frigging smart.. Ford puts a lot of forward thought into how people are going to mod these cars, is it true if you are running a tune the "track key" over rides it?
|
I have the Ford Racing tune, and assumed the Track Key would allow the FR tune to run when the "regular" key was used and the Track Key tune when the Track Key was used...
Nope, using the Track Key bumps you back to the stock tune when you aren't using the Track Key (according to Ford Racing). Kinda silly... |
Well if this is true... what happens if I program a my key? Can I load a different tune on their for let's say my wife?? Less timing.. more traction control??
