Those cars are very fast and in my opinion very dangerous for the no prep racing they are doing. Still fun to watch

No way inn hell I would race on the street with somethig like that.

rriddle3 07-26-2013 11:03 AM

I suspect those guys race on the street because most of them would fail the safety check on a legit track.

Exactly what I've been saying, they do have some seriously fast cars.

Rebelracer568 07-26-2013 11:14 AM

Murder nova been 4.70's. Those guys also running the widest slicks possible on there cars. Yes they are fast. But on the street the fastest car doesn't always win. I won drag and brag street outlaw championship few years ago with a car the made just over 300rwhp. All about the holeshot and who can hook up the best

That is a huge factor in a drag. So many drivers want to do a rolling start rather than get it from a dig. As we used to say, "Did you come to drag race or road race?"

Rebelracer568 07-26-2013 11:21 AM

My dad use to do alot of street racing in the 80's. Thats how I learned how to know when to leave on drop and how to control pedal.

Road racing = turning

Your saying is dumb

Just because you disagree does not make it dumb.

Road racing is turning correct? Highway racing is strait line...seems a lot more like drag racing to me.

I prefer bush or a good landing strip.
40-50 roll for me, I'm on 20's and have a glass transmission.

no it's dumb:) anyone who confuses Roll racing with Road racing = dummy...

that's like saying " Hey my car is for Sell... it's hard to Sail it on the internet but hopefully it will eventually Sale".

They all sound close.. they all start with S... but that statement would mean you are dumb:)

I bet you stick to the dirt roads.

rriddle3 07-26-2013 01:29 PM

Some of you have a different criteria for what constitutes a drag race than what I do. Even Wikipedia agrees with me:

"The race follows a straight course from a standing start over a measured distance, most commonly ¼ mile (1,320 ft (400 m)), with a shorter 1,000 ft (300 m) for some Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars, while 660 ft (200 m) (1/8 mi) is also popular in some circles"

The point of my 'dumb' saying is that it's not a drag unless it's from a dig.

Again.. thats NOT the dumb part.. the dumb part is calling Roll racing " road racing"..

last time i checked.. "road racing" was racing around a coarse, with turns and stuff like corners.. NOT straight line racing from a roll..

if your fantastic line was " did we come to Drag race or ROll race" it would make sense.. but at no point have i seen people go to the street to "road race".

just sayin..

JDMLOL 07-26-2013 02:03 PM

How do you race around a coarse?

Doug1227 07-26-2013 02:06 PM

quoting wikipedia to defend a point may be the dumbest thing I've read in this thread! LMAO!

And that was the reason I used the word 'even' in my post. It signifies the bottom-level, as in, "Even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while." If you want to call it a 'Roll Race', a 'Running Start Race', that's fine with me, but I will still call a 'Drag Race' as having a standing start. That's all.

A302 07-26-2013 02:50 PM

Nice dyno numbers. The last time I went to Denton it hooked pretty well. I was on drag radials though. Good enough to get 1.55 60 ft. times.
