Installing longtubes on these cars are a complete pain in the ass. If you have a shop do it 1) it's going to be expensive as hell 2) you're taking a huge chance with the Mustang shops in the DFW area because most of them suck ass. Dave's car is also slammed which is going to make it difficult driving daily with speed bumps and driveways scraping everything and possibly busting collectors.

Unless you are building an all out race car trying to squeeze out every last bit of horsepower, spending $1250 on parts, plus $85 hour labor hours on install is not worth the 15-20rwhp that you will gain from it.

But that's just my opinion.

You keep mentioning inspection like getting it done is to the level of difficulty of a bar exam. I've never had a problem

Headers are a supporting mod. Less boost is needed with the added flow aftermarket headers provide therefore the stress on the motor is somewhat minimized. I hope you have seen the stock headers before making these assessments, looks like a 15 year old welded them with a years experience. I will they say do flow well for light bolt on setups.

Good luck getting local vendors to support this site and possibly offer discounts for members with those comments. :disgust:

This thing makes plenty of noise but it's not my daily driver so I can tolerate it.

Had to get 3 fillings at the dentist yesterday afternoon. That nitrous oxide sure was fun though. :Big Laugh:

Respectfully, i have been doing this car thing for a long time now and i personally just dont want the inspection hassle any longer. I dont want any race car type problems, i want it to start everytime i turn the key, i want to be able to take it to any inspection place without having to know someone for a hookup and all that crap. Squeezing every horsepower out of a car is a huge waste of time and money unless you are building a race car that is purpose built. I kick myself when i think about how much ive wasted over the yearsof doing this stuff. Lol

These new cars are so easy to make powerwith its silly. Exhaust, blower and a tune will make way more than i can useon the street. No need to get silly with it with parts that make the car less streetable and more of a hassle.

Again, that is my opinion that works for me. The car is suppose to be a fun hobby car. It just sits most of the time and driven to enjoy and have fun with. Its not suppose to bring more stress and less fun.

Quake5.0 08-17-2012 02:54 PM

I completely agree with steve. I really enjoy racing a race car but I really hate driving it on the street. If I get 600-700hp outta the new car I'll be just peachy and have a/c and take my wife on a date in it!

Phuck Phace 08-17-2012 03:05 PM

I am racecar.

DirtyD 08-17-2012 03:11 PM

I see it like this - the longer you wait, the more likely the rebate is to go up. Hell you may even get a better deal if you do find something that has been sitting on the dealer lot for awhile that you may have missed during your searching.

Oooorrrr you could put in an order for one and get exactly what you want... :)

Midnight11 08-17-2012 06:29 PM

yea the rebates just went up to 1500 but my rental goes away monday and i need a car

Pay out of pocket for the rental more? Or downgrade to a compact. Cheaper cost and on gas.

I paid the last week for my rental out of pocket. You should be able to keep the insurance rate even though they stop paying.

Good luck

Grandpa 08-17-2012 11:45 PM

It's easy to find a car. Now finding a car with a price you're willing to pay is another thing entirely. At some point, you're going to have to realize you're buying a new car again and the prices have gone up a lil. You either have to pay the price, or be patient.

Midnight11 08-18-2012 01:35 AM

There's no car with the options I want. Dont need nav...

Grandpa 08-18-2012 01:45 AM

Have you looked at Bosses again yet?

The ford Nav sucks and so do my heated seats, they should have put some AC in those mofros. Get a base and add brakes, sways and whatever else you want, punal.

Grandpa 08-18-2012 04:08 AM

Honestly, the Brembos are only needed if you are going to track the car. The stock brakes stop just as well, they just fade a lil sooner at the track. It's just a trendy thing for some to say they have Brembos, most people will never use them to their potential. I had Brembos on my SRT8 and they were expensive as hell when they needed something. Hardly worth it for a street car. Besides, if you really want brakes, you can buy Stoptechs cheaper than the Brembos are they are a far superior brake. It's the same thing with the 3.73's vs the 3.31's. There is hardly a noticable difference between the two gears in N/A form. If boost is in your plan down the road, the 3.73's are just going to murder tires and render your first couple of gears useless.

Midnight11 08-18-2012 04:36 AM

Your opinion... I'm not getting a base either...

Midnight11 08-18-2012 06:53 AM

I do like the white one though. I just wanted the 13 indash screen and headlights and tails

virtu 08-18-2012 08:10 AM

Have you tried checking with a dealership to see what is currently in transit? I bought a car about 6 years ago doing it just like this. The dealership could not find the options I wanted on the car but they knew there was one coming in and expected it within a few weeks. They were able to show me some order sheet showing what was currently in shipping status. Sure enough I picked it up 3 weeks later.

Midnight11 08-18-2012 08:43 AM

Yes I've tried like 5 dealers Doing that and only one has one and it comes in sept 5

Midnight11 08-18-2012 11:04 AM

The one at Mac haik has been in a wreck that's why it's so cheap. Next lol

That looks like a good deal if he can live with a base model. That's about what I paid for mine but I have the track package minus the 301A trim, did not want sync.
