I have a copy of my dyno graph in SAE on here somewhere. You can look at that and see roughly where the power is at in these cars.

It's kind of a no brainer here with you making about the same power and 800lbs lighter. lol.

DirtyD 11-17-2012 12:56 AM

Steve, he is racing in the older FRC Vette that puts down 312/323.

STROKD 11-17-2012 03:07 AM

ok well I just finished my humble pie... fuck yo' Coyotes dammit!

video to follow, long story short, with 165 lb passenger to him solo, we were locked till he said he shifted to fourth (I was ahead by a bumper on the second race). Both times he shifted to fourth I was about to go to fifth, and he ended up right with his rear bumper at my front wheel both races...

I put 5 gallons of gas in my hooptie thinking I was gonna tuck my tail and go home sadly, and we were talking about passenger weights mattering, this and that. So the generous 5.0 owner offered me a rematch, this time taking the passenger and me racing solo... we figured I might win by a car or so, but it didnt turn out that way... The only differences in the races is about a 300 lb swing...

I guess weight makes more difference in a slow car vs fast ones. hahaha. I won the last few races by way over 2 cars, the last one looks like I hit a 75 shot or something. The Vette was shaggin ass the last race, I think I won by 4, maybe 5 cars.

We are going to try to setup another time before either of us mod up with both of us racing solo... both of us hit all our gears on all races, and he hooked at all speeds. I spun a tad from the 35 roll but peddled it quickly enough to not lose much ground. All in all much fun was had, almost as much as racing fast cars.:pokeowned:

Maybe Steve thought I put down 376? That would be bad ass, but no, that's not what happened... my other FRC made 381, and I raced this guy with it and drug him silly. That's why we wanted to set up this race was because the cars are so much more closely matched.:High 5:

You guys should've ran one more without the passenger in any car. In for the vid, sounds like some good racing!

STROKD 11-19-2012 02:55 PM

Here are the vids... only difference is the passenger being in the losing car each race.

Both cars have mufflers, untuned.

Stang made 376/338 at stock weight, 230 lb driver

Vette made 315/324 at stock weight plus larger/wider wheels, 190 lb driver, 165 lb passenger in first 2 vids.

2 of these didnt turn out on the phone, this one was the best. Only change was passenger in 5.0 instead of Vette.

All runs to 155-160.

Had fun, wife wants to mod now which was my whole point in racing.:jester:

DirtyD 11-19-2012 03:13 PM

Not bad. Must have been some fun roads at those speeds as I could see the front fender gap on the '13 grow then shrink at the beginning of the video! Haha

It was smooth sailing in the vette.:sleepy10: Thought I was going to pass out from boredom but it was still fun. That car doesnt get a lot of runs, so it was good to blow it out some. Wife doesnt take it over 3500 rpm to my knowledge. lol

These lil Coyotes run good. :)

yep, almost as good as a stock LS1 designed by Government Motors way back in 1997.:roflsquared:

To the Coyote's defense, it obviously makes more power, just aerodynamics and weight kill it's advantage with a swiftness.

The LS1 was an amazing motor, too bad it was built around a plastic pile of shit that fell apart after 10k miles and sounded like a gawd damn farm truck. There is more to a car than just making power. lol.

I do hope you are referring to the Camaro...:emotions34:

My wife's car has 60k miles and the only problem it's had is the cheap ass headling motor, which I fixed myself not having any clue how to do so.

46Tbird 11-19-2012 07:26 PM

Has anyone else noticed how slow most LS cars are at the track these days?

The same cars that in '02 were running 11s with slicks, lid, cutout, and converter seem to be running low-mid 13s now. I'm talking about F-bodies here; I haven't seen a C5 at the dragstrip in ages.
