Hmm maybe I can get away for a few runs

If the air is good, I see that car running 11.0x's @ 125 or better all day long. And there will be a "hero" run that will dip a 10.99 on one of them too.
|
305/35-19 MT's. I think it will run better than my goal, but I like to set a pessimistic goal so I'm not too disappointed if things don't go well. In the fall, I wouldn't hesitate to call it a 10.80 car all day... Hell, I think I'll just go to the track and find out! LOL!
|
Man I'm wishy-washy! LOL! I'm gonna go to Ennis tonight and meet up with Yeager and company. See y'all there.
|
Your 305th post, and you're running 305 tires? It's a sign from above, you will run 10's tonight.
|
So how'd it do?

Not as well as I would have hoped. I've got a few bugs to work out... mostly with the shifting. It's acting like it's hitting a rev-limiter on both the 1-2 shift as well as the 2-3 shift, but I don't think it's the actual rev limiter. Manny said he has the hard limiter at 7700, so I don't think it's that. Anyway, it feels like you hit the brakes when it hits the limiter and it's doing it on both shifts, so I'm sure I'm losing both some ET as well as MPH. I'll get the bugs worked out and hope for a better result next time. My best pass was:
1.746 60' 7.503 @ 96.05 1/8th 11.5 @ 124.42 1/4 Best 60' was a 1.67 but it's still spinning a bit. I also found out this sucker is 3900# with me and a 1/2 tank! DAMN! That was with the spare removed and pretty much everything else as is. I also want to figure out a way to get some of the heat out of the supercharger when at the track. Sitting still, I didn't have a way to really cool it off. Going to look into the Killer Chiller or maybe just a larger reservoir to put ice in or something. It never really cooled all the way off. I didn't have a lot of time, so I got in a total of 4 passes and was averaging about 30 minutes apart which wasn't much for cool down. So In summary, my list of action for next time are: 1.) Get the shifts sorted out. I think there's probably .2 and 2mph associated with this! 2.) Consider going to a 15" DR. Not sure on this. It might be worth trying the 19's some more even if they are a little fickle. 3.) Consider some weight savings somewhere. 4.) Look at cooling options. Overall, a good first trip with lots of room for improvement! :) |
Gawd damn 3900lbs?!?!?!?! Didn't realize how heavy those cars are but yours is fully loaded correct? And how much heavier is an auto car over a manual one?

What I want to know is did you beat Brent? Lol |
It's a premium auto and I'd bet the KB added 150 lbs or so. 3900 included me and I'm 165, so 3735 without me. Probably 3600 before the KB. Not sure about the m6.

We never lined up but I think he was running just a little slower than me NA! Very impressive!

Heat soak is definitely an issue with these, even with the giant heat exchanger. My IAT's were showing mid 130 after hot lapping it a few times in 80 degree weather.
I wondered how the tune was going to be with the shifting. IIRC, Manny said that was the hardest part to work out on the auto cars. He'll get it right though. And damn that mph shows what she's really capable of. Tens will be yours easily when it's all sorted out. |
Time for an ice chest and bags and bags of ice! It made a noticeable difference in my Cobra when I took it to the track. The auto tuning is a big concern for me, I don't know if many of the local tuners have had much time to learn them, I don't want to have to go back and forth across DFW every time I have an issue because of inexperience.
