Just wondering if anyone knows much about the factory radio set up in our cars. I'm thinking about doing this:

Are our radio controls simply on a removable faceplate with the actual radio head unit or brains being mounted behind the faceplate separately? I was thinking of purchasing a separate bezel to do this project on. It looks like the guy in the vid simply cut out his radio controls and stuck the tablet in, then just ran the aux out to the input of the factory radio and controls volume through the steering wheel.
