Default What are the best Daily Drivers for $6,000 or less?

Yup, Alex is looking for a daily to buy next year so I can do some power mods to the Ford. I've been considering older Honda Accords, would like some Lexus's but you really need a bigger bank account. Looking for suggestions that are: four-door, reliable, and good on gas.

Just got rid of a 2005 Focus. Manual trans no frills but got 32 mpg every day and never broke down once in 100k miles.

Did you buy it new?

Also considered Toyotas, just not sold on the styling yet. Hopefully I'll get over that.

Yep. New in march of 2005. Good car all the way around. Never won a race but could always pass a gas station.
