Time for an ice chest and bags and bags of ice! It made a noticeable difference in my Cobra when I took it to the track. The auto tuning is a big concern for me, I don't know if many of the local tuners have had much time to learn them, I don't want to have to go back and forth across DFW every time I have an issue because of inexperience.

What exactly does the ice do? Ive always wondered why people do that, I figured it would crack things because of the sudden temp change.
Im assuming you're talking of throwing it on top of the motor.

Yes, ice down the blower case and maybe the intake tube as well. You can also get an intercooler tank with a larger opening and add ice directly to the coolant. CO2 spray bar on the face of the heat exchanger helps as well.

Off topic, but remember the 04 lightning concept? I remember reading the article and it said the ac system chilled coolant that I think ran through the intercooler or blower. Something like that. Is there any similar aftermarket systems like that on the market?

Yeah, been looking at them already! LOL! The funny part is that the IAT was lower 5 minutes after I left and got on the highway than it EVER was the whole time I was at the track. It cools pretty decent when moving, but needs a better way to cool the car when sitting still. Either the big trunk mounted reservoir and a couple bags of ice, or the KC.

I put ice in the intercooler reservoir, and another bag on top of the blower.

Cobra guys will jump the wire to the intercooler pump to run while the car is off, I'm sure you could do the same, just have to find which connections/relay. 2 things though, don't kill your battery or have a back up and don't forget to put coolant back in during the winter.
I could load up with ice before a run, go through the staging lanes with the car off as much as possible, then make one pass and the water would already be warm/hot. Just from icing it down though you could tell the car ran much better. If you can find a "bag your own ice" station, it'll become a good friend!

I've even been playing around with fans on the heat exchanger. They do it on Termi's, why not on a KB on a 5.0?

I have two 10" fans on an AFCO heat exchanger. They help out mostly when sitting in the staging lanes and are a good addition I think.

The heat exchanger is decent in the KB kit, but it doesn't have the fans. Maybe a retrofit with the spal fans would be decent. It might make more sense to just put that money towards the KC instead.

28.4mph on the backend, play on playa!
The power is there but those shift flares are killing your ET. You don't need me to tell you this! Get the tune to shift right (and run ANY month except June-July-August, lol) and you'll be 10s easy. Great job dude!

I was looking at my gear calculator this morning and the 1-2 and 2-3 occur before the 1/8th mile mark and I was pulling 3rd for the entire back half, so that makes sense. If I can clean up the shifts, the 1/8th mile numbers should improve dramatically, then put a +28 mph on those and it should be in the correct range. I have no idea what kind of MPH or ET I'm losing, but it's got to be pretty significant.
