My point is how DO I know?

I haven't spent any money yet, but we all know a custom tune is better for the car overall.

I'll see what the data logging did, see what Bama says, have it dynoed to check for safety and power at TSM (most likely) and if it needs help, they'll jump in.

In general Bama tunes are safe, really safe. That's why most people change to a local shop because they will make more power. The tuner for Bama did this on purpose since they don't actually get to see and dyno the cars. Bama tunes aren't bad, they are just conservative and that was done on purpose. Also good choice on going to true street.
