No i mean every 3k miles. I could understand if the car sat for extended periods but for a daily 5k is fine hell 7500k would work as well.

Hell yeah I would never consider running more then 3k regardless what any test says. $40 every couple months is cheap insurance for piece of mind knowing I have fresh clean oil in my engine. Every engine I have built, treated this way and then torn apart for upgrades or to sell etc always looked cleaner and better then when I put it together. Some consider it throwing away money. I throw away four times that every month for car insurance that I have never once used in the past 10 years...

Pennzoil ult and plat are hard to beat for the price. 3k was in the 70's and 80's oil tech has came along way since then.

Word. When I used to be a distributor for AMSOIL, they advertised like 15,000miles on one change. I think BMW advertises the same.

I used Mobil 1 in my GTO but haven't had a chance to change this oil yet. I think the last time I looked I was around 50%.

The only way to really know is to send in a sample.

The thread is on here somewhere (wont be on the shitter long enough to look) but I was going 5k on Motorcraft synthetic blend. I sent it in for analysis and it had a little life left but was time to change. I have RP 5w-30 in now and am going til 7500 when I'll send it in again to get tested.

Will do. If the factory stuff was looking good I have faith a good synthetic will be just fine to 7500. The car will have a little more abuse this go around though... I'll finally have time to finish the nitrous!

Just out of curiosity, do you simply mail off a small vial of used oil?

I used Blackstone Labs, they send you the sample bottles for free, you just mail it in along with a check or payment info. There are plenty of other places that do the same thing. Blackstone doesn't show all of what some of the company's do, I cant remember right off hand what they skipped. It was cheap though and I wanted a base to compare the RP to when the time comes.
