Honestly a forum member gave me a pro tip. Rather than messy rtv silicone you can go to autozone or oreillys and get aluminum looking exhaust repair tape.. just wrap the joint and then clamp over the tape. Completely solved my leak issues.

Did you cut the tabs so you can move them around?

I had the same problem, but turned the clamps around.

I like the tape idea better than silicone, never thought of that. And better looking than the giant band clamps

I just installed 3 3" band clamps on my H-pipe last night. All 3 are leaking now after being tightened down all the way.

So I'm just going to have to either weld the cat deletes to the H-pipe, which I really don't want to do in order to keep the system modular.

But I will get the middle crossover of the H-pipe welded together.

DirtyD, That sucks.... I miss the days of 2 exhaust flanges welded on, a gasket and 2 or 3 bolts...

It happens. I wanted to get it put on, but I probably should've waited longer to line up someone to weld it up after install. Oh well. Live and learn.

Ya I am wonder what kinda of head aches I will run into with the BBK deletes when I put them on. I was definitely considering 3" band clamps at a minimum.

Curious now that I look at it. Were the band clamps 3" in diameter or length?

This is what I was looking at putting on since my piping is 2.75" from the cats back.

Those BBK deletes are going to suck to even begin with...just FYI. lol

The clamps were 3" diameter when rolled and tightened. I'm going to pick up some exhaust tape to wrap around the cat to mid-pipe connection then put the clamps back over it. Then I'll have the mid-pipe welded at the crossover.

If you were so fast away, I would definitely make the trip up there. Been wanting to get the car back on the dyno just out of curiosity as well.

What time do y'all open Saturday?
