Mt82 wine 1st-3rd
After running a couple passes at Ennis I now have a transmission wine. I can live it with, no big deal but kinda sad about it.
How many people have this problem?

Will they just whine for awhile or are they going to give out shortly after it starts? I can deal with a whine, hell i'm used to having a 3550 in my old cars.
And i'm guessing the better option, far as 6speeds go, is just putting a T56 in the car?

I've never noticed a whine in mine, even after 5 passes at TMP.

Mine has a slight whine too. Nothing terribly noticeable. I would say if it gets progressively louder and/or you notice any difference with being able to get it into gear get it looked at. Most people have the whine problem and so far I haven't seen it lead to much other than some extra noise.

Is this not something that can be fixed under the warranty for you manual guys? I drove a manual car before that didn't have a whine so clearly if it came from the manufacturer without one, I would definitely get it serviced.

If it bothers you enough get it checked out. I truly think the mt-82 is prone to it.

Ya I could always hear a very very slight whine since i've had the car. Nothing compared to the noise the tranny made on the 01 stang I had and never once had to do anything to the tranny other than a new clutch from being worn down over time.

Mine is pretty loud. Sounds like reverse in 1,2,3 at low speeds. 5th and 6th do not whine.

Mine started the whine after the first pass down MIR 2 years ago. Did nothing about it but drive it, and race it, as much as possible. Now, 2 years and 38000 miles later, the whine has almost completely gone away. You can still hear it for a few seconds, pulling away from a stop sign in first gear, as long as the windows are down and you are next to a curb or something similar that will reflect the sound back at you. Other than that, it has healed itself over time.

We need more cars to fix themselves.
