Crazy Priced Mustang
I had a girl friend searching for cars and she came across this one and was like "oOOOoo I like this a lot, go figure it's $51k, I have expensive taste I guess..."
So of course I told her to send me the link to the car.
http://www.jimclickford.com/new/Ford...14eecc70b0.htm
I just laughed when I saw this, she didn't quite understand until I explained it. ANYWAYS, I "inquired" about this car and told them something like this:
Why is this car $51k!? First of all it's a V6. Yes, it has some Roush styling, but it doesn't even have real Roush rims, those are standard GT Mustang rims. You could buy you a Stage 3 Roush (V8 Supercharged) Mustang for LESS than $51k. You could buy a Boss 302 and add a supercharger to it for $51k. You could even purchase yourself a 660hp GT500 for approximately $10k more. You need to do your research on Mustangs and reprice this car...
Anyways I got an e-mail back today that said "Thank you for your e-mail inquiry, We appreciate your input"
Thought it was funny, had to share.

Those are not standard GT Mustang rims. They are super special Brembo package rims that easily add 10k to the standard v6 mustang. They weight 127 lbs lighter a piece and give it 10 more horsepowers per wheel. The spoiler alone adds 5k and 100hp.

I just looked at the link, and saw a small picture of underhood on the dealers webpage...and was like....wait a minute, is that a V6?!!?...wtf?! haha. And I was like, there is NO WAY a brand new V6 mustang should ever be $51k....
Didn't realize it was a real Roush until later. Nice car without a doubt...but the way it's equipped, no way i'd ever pay $51k for it. Maybe some idiot who knows nothing about mustangs might.....if you got more money than brains.

Yeah, the Roush RS is new for 2013.

They definitely have that car priced wrong, or have a ridiculous markup. MSRP of the Roush Stage 3 is right around $50k. The RS is supposed to be around $30k. Not a bad deal if you want a body kit, brakes and suspension, and some interior upgrades over a V6 premium.

What makes it even more sad, mainly on Roush's part, is they left that motor untouched. At least put an intake or something on it.

I really feel like doing the "Request More Info" to politely ask them why they feel that MSRP price in warranted on a car that Roush themselves puts an MSRP of $30k on.

Even then, the dad would hopefully look and see that the v8's arent even close to that price.

My email to them, tried to be as calm as I could.
Hello,
I want to first off say I am in no shape or form trying to be rude with my following comments. I was just wondering what warrant you have to ask the MSRP of $51,235 on this Roush RS Mustang? An optioned out V6 Premium has an MSRP of $37,442 through Ford.com. I Understand that the Roush name brings a certain presence to the car, especially one as prestigious as Roush, but after adding the options that Roush adds to the RS package, the MSRP on top of the V6 Premium I listed above is still around the $43,000 range. You are basically asking someone to pay Boss Leguna Seca MSRP for a V6 Mustang with a body kit and Mustang GT Brembo wheels.
Again, I apologize if I am coming off brash, as that is not my intent.
Hoping to hear a response.
Regards,
D. O.

lol. awesome!
These people are going to be like...what the heck, why are so many people "yelling" at us about this!?
EVEN IF you had a fully loaded V6 mustang + Roush stuff....you still can't justify a $43k price tag!!!!

I looked up the window sticker, it has leather Recaro seats (manual), and a california emissions package, and a 6 speed manual...
MSRP = $27,795
Roush upgrades to them = $23,440
+ TTL fees
haha. wow

You can justify it. That is the true MSRP of all equipment added to the vehicle. You could talk them down to around $40k. You are more likely to bump money off the dealer MSRP before the Roush package. What sucks, being the Roush stuff is already added, they are very unlikely to budged...
