I'm not all that interested in the event (yep - it's boring as hell to watch) but I think it will be fun for the participants. You don't have a lot of opportunities in a street environment to really wind up a car with even 500hp, so I see the draw.

I can understand, but I think it would be cool to have a crowd there, just not an insanely big crowd. You could potentially get a ton of participants to join in this since the power levels aren't near those of TI. At $20 I would pay to come, and I'm sure other people with a legit interest of watching would pay that, and hopefully it would help to keep the spectator crowd at a decent size.
