SR shifter $40

American muscle SR shifter for sale. Had it on my car for about 3 weeks but didn't like it, way too hard to get in reverse(embarrassing when u have a passenger lol). I just put the stock one back on and I can tell a huge difference in the throw. I think SR shifter is 25% shorter throw. It also rattles in 3rd gear, maybe something can be done about it but I think I learned my lesson and will just buy known good name brand stuff from now on

Barton's are just as hard to get into reverse. Makes it a real PITA when driving.

NO probelms with mine?

No problems with mgw

IMO, nothing is better than the stocker

I know a lot of people, including Bryan, that feel the same way...

I do have a Barton 2 post bracket though

Terry Fair doesn't like any of the aftermarket MT82 shifter either.

Bet he's not! I have the Barton 1.5" extension kit and weighted knob waiting to go on mine when I get it back this week. If that doesn't do it, I'll be leaving the bracket in and going back to the stocker as well. It served me well, only tried the Barton looking for that "edge" (or that tenth or two!). Didn't really find it yet, but the shifter only has 3200 miles on it, and most of that was on the highway.

All of you don't have the mgw. Hmm... :D

I've had an MGW on every other Mustang I've owned. I still contend that they are the best. They were not shipping when I was ready to buy, so I got the Barton on a whim. It's a damn good shifter, and I think the extension I have waiting to go on will cure most of the issues that I personally have with it, but overall, the stocker is still one of the best factory shifters ever installed in a Stang and it's pretty dang hard to beat it. Spend a few bucks on the CHE front k member brace and the Barton bracket, and you'd be pretty much good to go.

U have the white line bushing yet? It helps a lot too

OG Fox 09-16-2013 01:11 AM

Mgw or bust. Glws.
