Pinion Angle Adjustment
The car's been lowered for little over a month but I still need to get the pinion angle adjusted especially since it's a pretty dramatic drop.
I've been calling around but no shops will touch it. (Firestone, NTB, local garages) Is it crazy to call up Ford and see if they'll adjust it since the car is still under warranty? Or do ya'll know of any shops in the Carrolton/Coppell area that can adjust the pinion? It drives fine but I'm hesitant to drive it harshly until this is adjusted. Also, I did a forum search and didn't really come up with much and not sure if this is in the right sub-forum. It's sorta suspension related. thanks! |
Vorshlag in Plano can handle this for you.

Yeah, I was looking for somethig closer :/
If not, I'll definitely hit them up. I know they know what they're doing . |
You have an adjustable Uca, right? If you're closer to ft worth hit up darkhelmet22 on the board. He's a tech at a reputable dealership. That's who did my driveshaft and pinion angle.

It's not hard to do. Just need the proper equipment. Any performance shop should be able to knock it out easily.

On the fb page someone posted about a place called Darryl's Premium AutoCare & Performance doing their pinion angle. says the guy who did it owns a 12 boss too.

Thanks guys!

How much did you lower the car?

At least 2"
I called Vorshlag and made an appointment. |

I don't notice a difference or anything. I just know it isn't good for wear and tear on the car. It's my daily so it gets a lot of mileage.

The heavy factory shaft or any cv shaft will cover up a lot of the obvious signs that the p/a is off. |

With anything but heim joints you may set the angle at say -1, but during hard acceleration with say urethane bushings, you may end up around +1- +3 due to deflection in the bushings. And lets not get started with rubber bushing deflection.. Its all about the setup. |
