Boss Rear diffuser

Anybody have it? How was the install?

DirtyD 07-29-2013 09:31 AM

Midnight and 03MachMe have it. I don't think the install is too bad.

re-rx7 07-29-2013 09:32 AM

I hear conflicting stories as Ive searched Google. Some say easy some say hard. I think looks so much better.

DirtyD 07-29-2013 10:12 AM

There is a install guide on SVTP for the Boss diffuser.

JDMLOL 07-29-2013 10:14 AM

Ask Nic. I know he mentioned several times it involved drilling 26 holes. Lol.

re-rx7 07-29-2013 10:45 AM

I believe its a bolt on for the 11-12 the 13-14 require cutting.

Midnight11 07-29-2013 11:00 AM

its easy had/have both...

re-rx7 07-29-2013 11:06 AM

Im assumng it mostly for looks because i cant see it working.

DirtyD 07-29-2013 11:24 AM

It does help the air flow a little better under the rear of the car, but it's not going to really be noticed at all. Just gets rid of the "flat" wall causing turbulence as the air flow exits under the car.

I know what a real diffuser is, dude. I was simply stating it is a small improvement over not having it.

I meant to put a exclamation point. :mwah1: If it extended back to maybe the rear axle a bit more the benefits would be better. A few vents above the winglets to let trapped air escape. 7-10 degree rake eems to work best.

Its is just for looks. Your not going to see any improvement on a street car. And it's not stable enough if you get to the speeds it would make a difference. The install for a 13-14 is simple. The bumper has a line that tells you where to cut. Takes a couple hours at most
