Racing a '13 5.0 this weekend, any guesses how I'll do?

This should be a fun thread... Race setup is 35-150. His car is a Grabber Blue base manual car with stock 235 18s I think they are. Supposedly it makes 370rw with just catback.

I will be in my wife's Y2k FRC Vette. It has zo mufflers and ram air. On heavy 20"s it dynoed 315/324 SAE at True Street last week. STD was 323/332 I think, I just don't use STD because I've used sae all my life and STD correction confuses me.

So, any guesses how I will fare with the bad ass 5.0? My guess is me ahead by 4 lengths at 150...:smiley-face-popcorn

I'm sure it has more than 370 in it bc I made more with just mufflers. What gears

being he has the 18" rims on 235 tires, I would take a $100 stab at the fact he is a 3.31 car.

Assuming both of you are roughly 200 lb males, you have him at ~3450# to ~3820# (using online estimated curb weights). However, he has slightly less lb/HP, 10.28 to your 10.96.

I think he might pull on you a little towards the top, but if you can get the launch on him, you by a 1-2 cars.

LOL @ Matt fishing for "go fast egoes". You must be bored. Sorry Matt, you're not going to be able to to stir the pot here. Laid back group. haha

Let's nerd it out and get our racing calculators out. Matt has his Corvette tshirt, gloves, jacket and matching driving shoes. That should easily put him in the 10's alone. :win:

I just answered a question. :(

Lol, I was trying to get some honest reponses without too many fanboi's talkin smack. :)

DirtyD has real good estimates, except my car is lighter than he estimated by roughly 100 lbs.

I'm hopeful he hits an aero brink wall at 130ish, as the C5 pulls great at that speed.

I have 2 Vette shirts, but no gloves, jackets, or shoes :( Shit costs too much. Haha.

I'd say the car would run an honest 12.8@112 or so. The big advantage for me is from the trapspeed at 110 to 150 which is what the kid wants to run till...

Well the kid is 21, and its his first performance car... I'm fairly confident Ive got the slight edge in experience.:High 5:

I already beat the guy by about 8 cars (his estimate, I couldnt see his lights) to 130 in my other FRC that made 380rw... and it was pulling hard at 130. figure that woulda been about 10-12 car lengths if we kept going...
