Shots from Cars & Coffee

I'm not a master photog, but I wanted to share some shots from Cars & Coffee Dallas yesterday. Canon 60D with 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM lens I was shooting in Av mode. Still Don't trust myself in manual mode.

Those Cobra's...I love them. We would all love an original, but I would sell it and get a factory five with that 5.0L. Reliability with the classic looks!

Great photos BTW!

Nice work, Derek, but are you sure you have that last photo labeled correctly? I never saw an original Cobra with a tilt up front end.

It has to be a kit, no one would modify an original 427/SC with a tilt front end (which they did not come with). Nice car still, but not original.

See, that's what I can't figure out. Doing some google searching I found a few Cobra race cars that had tilt front ends. However, those were pictures with not much details. So I don't know if some of the actual race cars came with tilt fronts or not. I didn't get the chance to talk to the owner.

^ I don't think the Cobra's did, but I think the Daytona Coupes had the tilt front end?

Great pics! What are you shooting with? In auto or playing with the settings while shooting?

Shooting with a Canon 60D and 17-85mm f/4.0-5.6 IS USM lens, mostly in Av mode adjusting exposure as needed.

This is the only one I can find online that is a "flip top" and it's a prototype, CSX 2196.

Yup. Note the 5 lug wheels.

El_Tortuga 04-07-2014 01:42 PM

Cobra kit with Coyote is a sweet package. I don't think its practical to get 1500 pounds out of my Mustang, but that would sure make it FLY!!!

Nice set, thanks for sharing.

Dominic Toretto 04-07-2014 04:25 PM

What wheels are on those snakes?

That flip top Cobra is a one of one car, probably done as an exercise for the racing circuit back in the day.

The other dead giveaways on the one at C&C? 14 or 15" front discs, and wheels that bolt on like a regular car. 427/SC's had pin drive wheels with real knock offs.
