Where is a good place to get my resonators deleted? What are people generally paying to have it done? I have the GT500 axle backs and would like to not spend a fortune to get the resonators cut out.

Thanks!

I had a local muffler shop named B&B Muffler do mine. http://www.yelp.com/biz/b-and-b-muff...tor-carrollton

They charged $40 total to delete both sides.

How's the sound change on this? Is it really much? .. I need to do mine because the car came with one of them semi crushed ..

crushed as in crushed in or does it look dented? they all come like that if its what i think you're talking about.

i will probably do mine when i get home, its supposed to be deeper and a bit louder than stock...perfect for a drone free cruise but scream pretty good at wot. from what ive read and heard on crappy youtube videos.

IHateThisSite 04-02-2013 11:52 AM

One side looks clean .. Other side has a large dent in it ... 100% not even ... Looks like it was bottomed out on something ... But not at speed ...

IHateThisSite 04-02-2013 11:59 AM

After looking around not all of them are even ... A few "official" pics showed a even looking dent ... But after looking around some pics look like they just hit it with a sledge after a while ...

That is how they all come.

I had mine deleted at Pronto muffler in Plano.

+1 for b&b if I remeber correctly it ran me 50 maybe less? To cut them off an weld aluminum I place and it only took them 40 mins.

Phil's Muffler Shop over in Fort Worth.

I think I paid around 80 or so.

What is the advantage of having them deleted? And would you need a tune after?

No advantage really other than making the car louder. No tune needed.

Go with a tune and off road x pipe. That will really wake up the car. Talk to Truestreet for all the info.

Agreed. It really woke my car up for sure. The stock tune is really lazy in comparison.

I've heard that an off road has a bad smell? It's a daily until I get my truck running.

These cars stink with the factory exhaust because they run so fat so I don't see much difference. With the offroad H it's not bad at all. It's certainly not intolerable like a track car or something to that effect.

What are you running on your exhaust setup Steve?

GT500 AB's and a Lethal H pipe. It sounds great in my opinion. Nice deep rumble, but not too loud like other setups I've heard.

Midnight11 04-06-2013 07:55 PM

H pipe and bassani best combo

What kind of h pipe, off road or catted? I like my slp's! I was thinking about doing the while slp kit American muscle sells long tubes with catted x. But I heard these cars have lots of problems with headers. Don't now if its true though. I'm thinking about doing the steeda and maybe Jon Lund tune. Does true street actually tune it by hand and dyno. Or is it just a email tune? Do you know?

Midnight11 04-06-2013 08:29 PM

Off road h and tuned by true street on the dyno

BLK2012GT 04-06-2013 08:29 PM

Open headers

Thinking of having mine deleted... but like the "refinement" of the GT500s so far with them in.

On the fence... just worried if it will be raspy or tinny with them out.
