Maybe the type of hunting I do is not. But when I go mule deer hunting it is. You don't sit in a stand and wait for the deer to come to the feeder. You actually have to do some scouting and go to the deer. Which is a great workout.

Take me after some mules with you, Jeff. I can shoot.

But I will agree, Texas style deer hunting isn't the best, but you don't exactly have much room to hide in most of the big hunting areas. Unless you want to post up in/on a Mesquite tree fo fun...

Give the animals a gun, then it's a sport. Otherwise it's just some rednecks wandering around in the woods looking to kill something they don't need to and to decorate their trailers with more antlers on the wall. lol.

My father and I kill for meat, the sport of it just happens to be extra. We don't shoot everything with 4 legs either. We kill mostly older deer that have little chance of breeding and bearing young anymore, so not to harm the population. There are a lot of things that go into hunting beyond "Point, Click, Bang".

I don't want to change the topic of the thread but I don't hunt just for that. I hunt to get some meat. I love deer meat and it actually saves me money on meat. Cause I hunt on friends leases so I don't pay a dime and I buy one box of .270 ammo for 20 bucks and it will last me about 3-4 years. Cause I never miss and it only takes one shot.

Phuck Phace 10-23-2012 12:41 PM

So what is a good place to get a meatball sub in Arlington?

I'll be in NC. Grandfathers wife (not my grandmother, she passed 10 years ago) passed away yesterday morning.

Thanks Man. Really rough time for my gramps. He's 81 and burying his second wife. Cycle of life.
