Still raining up here in OK. Looks like it should clear out ny afternoon. Just a question of how dry the track will be.

sasquash1984 10-05-2013 10:09 PM

Yep.

Grandpa 10-06-2013 10:22 AM

Had a close call on the way home. What I feared might happen almost did. The rain started coming down and a big rig went by us throwing even more water in our lane and the ass end of the car came right out of the lane sending us instantly sideways on the highway at 55mph. Thankfully no one else was around us and I pulled it back into our lane without flying into the wall. It scared the shit out of my poor wife who usually doesn't go out to car stuff with me very often, now she sees what she's been missing. lol.

I guess that's what I get for listening to you jerkoffs giving me shit for not driving the in the weather instead of sticking to I knew I should do. I'll clean up the car today since she is absolutely filthy from the rain and it will not be driven in the rain again. haha

rriddle3 10-06-2013 10:28 AM

Why not put street tires on the rear instead of DRs unless you're on the track?

It's not a daily and the drag radials are fine for good weather driving.

If you would have stuck around there wouldn't have been an issue. I left at 5:15 and it was completely dry the entire way home till I was a mile from my house.

We couldn't. Had limited babysitter time available.

Hddcrasher 10-06-2013 11:19 AM

I was matched up against a vette in the finals. I won but could not stick around to see final results. Of the Chevy vs Ford how many matches did Ford win?

Taxman 10-06-2013 06:09 PM

I didn't see many Chevy wins from my vantage in the staging lanes. Maybe Clint will comment on here and let us know.

Your first gear burnout sounded brutal! 2nd gear burnouts in the future bro!

DirtyD 10-06-2013 08:45 PM

Heard the event went great, so I'm looking to see if something is posted official in the next few days.

46Tbird 10-09-2013 10:00 AM

Are we ever going to hear about any results from this race? Besides about ten photos and Jon's video, I haven't seen or heard anyone talking about the event.

TrueStreetTim 10-09-2013 10:05 AM

Yes. Clint will have the finer details soon. It's been discussed more on the FB page for the event but will post more here as well.

Still waiting on Data from the Motorplex from the race. There printer was out of paper and they are sending me over the info so I cant break down who won a point and who got caught sandbagging ect. But as far as official win lose, Mustang won before we started. Lot of Camaros left around 12:00, Giving team Mustang a 20 point head start before racing ever started (20 mustangs without races). By the time weather stopped misting there were only 19 point races to be won. Once the Texas motorplex gets me the data I can give details on exact points.

We have most if not all the points races on video and I am working on getting it loaded. Should be able to see all the races by end of the week.

I really hated to see that to.... The racing we did have was fun to see, but with a lot of the Camaros leaving early the points were awarded to the cars still there

As soon as the date was annouced, I said I wouldn't make it, of which I had good reason to. Why would I give up some "fun time" to hang at a sausage fest. :troll3:

Had I said that I was going to be there, you could use that line. Please insert more coins to play again.

then dont give people shit who at least attempted to show up and race when you didnt even attempt to show up. I did not expect it to last as long as it did and if we had another delay I was going to have to leave, as well as most of the DFW50 guys that were there. I cant blame the guys that did leave because I honestly thought we were not going to be able to get it in, very glad we did since I got a new best with the cool weather but to give people who at least tried to race crap when you didnt even attempt to make it is stupid

I intended to go up until the point the event was announced to be taking place on my girlfriend's birthday. We already had plans that day for lunch in Fort Worth with her family, of which the time that took place was 1 PM. You can't give me shit for anything because had you been in the same situation with Aubrey, you know damn well that you would have not gone. So the fact you are giving me shit for NOT blowing off the plans I already had well before this event date was set in stone is fucked up.

Now I'm waiting for you to dispute that.

reading fails you..... I said I'm not giving you shit about not going. I am giving you shit because you are giving shit to people who left early when you didnt even show.... you have no room to give them shit for leaving early when you didnt show. I never once said anything about the reason you didnt go. I understand why you didnt go but you give all sorts of excuses why you cant make it to stuff, this was one of the few that was a legit excuse..

JDBishopArts 10-09-2013 04:07 PM

I was going to comment in this thread but my dogs gf is pooping on my grandmas birthday party while it's raining and my intake is too small for my new one that is being made by a guy I have to see next weekend in the snow while it's only on the street and not the track tune that might be making 5 less hp because my gears are weird and the tire ratios are too round to the square of the box.

You are giving me shit about giving people shit. That's how I comprehended your post. That's why I said what I did. However, I still don't see an issue with me posting a playful retort to Clint's statement. Again, I had no intention of making this event once it was an event, so I don't see how I can be held liable for not coming when I clearly said I wouldn't. Had I said "Yes, I'll be there." then woke up Saturday morning and changed my mind, then I would be fair game.

I know that I've given excuses in the past, but I am one of the few Ft. Worth based guys that has shown up to multiple events over there in the Dallas area a few times. I think I am at least owed a small amoutn of credit for that. Sometimes plans change.

I just can't drop everything to go to a car meet sometimes, and people need to respect it.

DirtyD 10-09-2013 04:10 PM

I'm done with this now. I'll just leave y'all to sling mud at me. I really don't care.

how hard is it to get... I said I am not giving you shit for not showing up, I understand you said from the start you would not be there. Thats fine whatever your reason may be. But then dont get on here and give people shit for leaving the event early. There were quite a few on both sides that had to leave early for a number of reasons. It sucked to see them leave but I don't think anyone expected the amount of delays we had. so yes I'm giving you shit for giving others shit for leaving early because you didnt even go.

I wasn't really all that serious with that to begin with. If I was serious I would've said it in words in a completely different manner than the emoticon/gif that I click on.

With the amount of shit that I do get about that, I saw that as serious more than playful. But then again, I am kind of edgy today from shit hitting the fan here at work, because people are fucking idiots.

I apologize for taking that comment the wrong way and getting it out of proportion.
