Weather looks like it going to be pretty on Sunday.

Grandpa 12-13-2012 12:18 PM

I think I'm going to go do a test run of the route to make sure it's safe, no new construction or anything like that. I'm a lil concerned about the pavement being too cold for this.

Slow6 12-13-2012 12:50 PM

Im in as long as there are no jacked up roads. I dont have the ground clearance to play on less than perfect roads.

This is the north Texas country backroads, not MSR. lol.

Slow6 12-13-2012 01:19 PM

Well as long as there hasnt been to much oil/gas truck traffic I guess I can chance it. ill just have to be in the back so I can go slow if needed. lol Wait a minute. Why cant we just go to MSR? Might be more fun without the chance of someone wrecking to bad.

That's an idea for future events next year, but requires advanced planning in order to make it happen. Not exactly something we can do on short notice.

my Porsche. sold it to my dad early this year to pay bills, got it all fixed up and running fantastic. It was in storage since 2006. Found out the cams were all out of phase and the O2 sensor was disconnected so it was running full rich which fouled the plugs and caused it to misfire badly.

Not true at all. I just don't like that 928 bodystyle at all. I LOVE Porsche's otherwise. It doesn't get much sexier than a widebody turbo car with some nice wheels on it. :)

STROKD 12-14-2012 04:05 PM

Understandable, I personally dont like most of them, but lowered a little on nice rims makes a huge difference since most people keep the old style stock wheels on them. They dont have a lot of love which is why they stopped making them. Still a lot cooler than a gd Panamera, Cayenne, or Boxster though.

I almost bought a 944, so I could put an lsx in. Still might do that one of these days. I like the body lines, I think it would be fun as hell with 400rwhp.

They make a swap for that now, its a bad ass setup. Bout 2700 lbs and a bad ass handling car. The LSX weighs nearly identical to the stock motor...

I was about to buy one to start the build when my dad decided to sell his car. Couldn't pass up on it so the 944 will be down the road. I'll do that one for my mid life crisis

Grandpa 12-16-2012 11:38 AM

Update-

No cruise today obviously. We are going to have to wait until Spring for this event. There is some construction on the route and the first rest stop is way too wet and muddy to park there which is also the first photo op location.

STROKD 12-16-2012 01:44 PM

Thanks for going by to look it over. Maybe Ill have the 5.8 tuned or the c6 here to take when we can make it happen.
